@doronz88 doronz88 released this 19 Oct 07:14
  • New, clearer default style: time, host and pid dimmed, logger name in cyan, the level name bold in its severity color (DEBUG dim, INFO green, WARNING yellow, ERROR red, CRITICAL white on red), and debug messages dimmed. coloredlogs' bold-black level name was nearly invisible on dark terminals.
  • style="coloredlogs" (on install() and ColoredFormatter) keeps the 1.0.0 output, byte-identical to coloredlogs' defaults.

@doronz88 doronz88 released this 19 Oct 07:08

First release: colored, single-line log output for command-line tools, a dependency-free replacement for coloredlogs.install() with the same default look.

  • install(level) / set_level(level) with coloredlogs' call shape
  • <time> <host> <name>[<pid>] <LEVEL> <message>, one line per record, byte-identical to coloredlogs' defaults
  • Colors only on terminals; honors NO_COLOR / FORCE_COLOR; switches Windows consoles to ANSI processing
  • Writes to the current sys.stderr per record
  • Python 3.9-3.15, typed (py.typed), no dependencies
