Can't Read From appsettings.Development.json

Following these instructions doesn't seem to give you access to the configuration data from appsettings.Development.json. Do we need to set a particular environment variable first?

Just to check, I added this:

builder.UseEnvironment("Development");

And then the app read from appsettings.Development.json. But that's not a permanent solution.

I tried adding the environment variable ASPNETCORE_ENVIRONMENT set to "Development" in my project's profile, but that didn't seem help.

I figured it out from the XML comments of Host.CreateDefaultBuilder:

load host Microsoft.Extensions.Configuration.IConfiguration from "DOTNET_" prefixed environment variables

I changed my environment variable to DOTNET_ENVIRONMENT and now it works.

I think information should be included in the article.
