Devin provider

Adds --provider devin --profile default (PR 49, merge ca5ac10) and a fifth entry in the fixed --all set.
On a cache miss it reads the selected Devin CLI credential file (DEVIN_CREDENTIALS, then $XDG_DATA_HOME/devin/credentials.toml, then $HOME/.local/share/devin/credentials.toml) and makes one bounded Connect JSON GetUserStatus request against the credential's api_server_url, the same read-only route the installed CLI uses for devin auth status.
Daily and weekly quota percentages normalize into account windows with reset and duration; reported ACU and prompt/flow/flex credit balances map to their own windows, and the source's -1 sentinel is preserved as unlimited rather than a number.
An absent or malformed credential file reports unavailable; there is no login, CLI invocation, token refresh, or fallback.
Also carries a nil-guard fix so an unset provider adapter reports unavailable instead of dereferencing a nil adapter.

Archive layout

Keeps the bin/remainder layout introduced at v0.3.0.
A version manager that installs a GitHub release by extracting the archive, such as mise's github: backend, must keep using bin_path = "bin" with strip_components = 1 or it treats docs/ and skills/ as installed binaries.
The published mise.toml sets both options and pins the macos-arm64 platform.

Verification

mise run verify passed on this macOS arm64 build host: formatting, go vet ./..., go test -race -shuffle=on -count=1 ./... across all packages, check-dependencies.sh, the evidence redaction suite, and a CGO-free release-like build.
scripts/package-release.sh v0.4.0 dist produced this archive with all 15 pre-publication asset checks passing; remainder_v0.4.0_darwin_arm64.asset-qa.json is that record.
On 2026-09-21 the Devin route passed an authorized native canary on this macOS host against the installed devin 3000.10.31 CLI's credential file: fresh complete evidence, verified userStatus.userId binding, daily and weekly 100-percent windows with resets and pace, and unlimited prompt_credits; see docs/features/devin.md and docs/provider-sources.md in the archive.

Downloads

remainder_v0.4.0_darwin_arm64.tar.gz, SHA256SUMS, a pinned mise.toml (macos-arm64 only), and remainder_v0.4.0_darwin_arm64.asset-qa.json.
Check the archive digest before extraction.

This release ships a darwin_arm64 archive only.
linux_amd64 stays at v0.2.2 and linux_arm64 at v0.2.1; neither contains the Devin provider.
The curl installer and Homebrew formula from the still-open PR 50 (scripts/install.sh, homebrew/remainder.rb) are not part of this release and are not an approved install path for v0.4.0.
Earlier release assets remain immutable.

--format toon

Adds --format toon (PR 47 / issue 46, merge a4f283b) as a projection of the same paced observation JSON already emits.
Compact stays the default.
JSON and value stay unchanged.

Archive layout

This is the first release after v0.2.3, so the executable lives at bin/remainder inside the archive.
A version manager that installs a GitHub release by extracting the archive, such as mise's github: backend, otherwise treats every root entry, including docs/ and skills/, as an installed binary.
Releases v0.1.0 through v0.2.3 keep the executable at the archive root and are not retroactively changed.
The published mise.toml sets strip_components = 1 and bin_path = "bin".

Verification

mise run verify passed on this macOS arm64 build host: formatting, go vet ./..., go test -race -shuffle=on -count=1 ./... across all packages, check-dependencies.sh, and the evidence redaction suite.
scripts/package-release.sh v0.3.0 dist produced this archive with all 15 pre-publication asset checks passing; remainder_v0.3.0_darwin_arm64.asset-qa.json is that record.
The packaged bin/remainder reports remainder v0.3.0 (github.com/douglasjarquin/remainder) and lists --format as compact, json, or toon.

No new credential route is introduced, so this increment does not run a live provider canary.

Downloads

This release ships a darwin_arm64 archive only.
linux_amd64 stays at v0.2.2 and linux_arm64 at v0.2.1; neither contains --format toon or the bin/ layout.
Earlier release assets remain immutable.

macOS Keychain fallback for Claude

On macOS, Claude Code stores its OAuth credentials in the login Keychain rather than writing ~/.claude/.credentials.json, so the file-only Claude route returned unavailable on those hosts. This release adds an opt-in fallback.

The file route is tried first on every OS and is unchanged. The fallback runs only when that file is absent, the OS is macOS, and --allow-keychain-prompt is passed. Any other file error still propagates without touching the Keychain, and a cache check alone never invokes the security helper — only an actual fetch does.

Verification

./scripts/verify.sh passes on this macOS arm64 build host: gofmt -l . clean, go vet ./..., go test -race -shuffle=on -count=1 ./... across all packages, check-dependencies.sh, and the evidence redaction suite. Hosted CI passed on ubuntu-24.04 and macos-14. scripts/package-release.sh produced this archive with all 15 pre-publication asset checks passing; asset-qa.json is that record.

The Keychain fallback passed an authorized native canary run against this packaged executable, not a source build. With the credential file absent it returned exit 0, fresh complete evidence, source kind native_keychain_http name claude_keychain, and a verified account binding, preserving the account five-hour and weekly windows, the Fable model weekly window, and distinct paid extra_usage credits. A second read inside the max-age window reused the original observation timestamp, and the same request without --allow-keychain-prompt on a cold cache returned unavailable naming the flag with exit 1. Codex and Grok scalar reads on the same executable were unchanged. No login, credential refresh, account switch, or generative request occurred.

One host and one account were exercised. Other macOS versions and accounts, and the Linux Cursor native route, remain unverified.

Linux x86_64 build target

Adds a linux_amd64 build target to the packaging and verification scripts. No provider source, cache, output, or CLI behavior changed — internal/ and cmd/ are untouched since v0.2.1 aside from the already-released Claude native-canary documentation update.

This release ships a linux_amd64 archive only. darwin_arm64 and linux_arm64 users see no functional difference and should keep using the immutable v0.2.1 assets for those platforms until they are rebuilt at a later version.

Verified on this linux/amd64 build host: full go build/go vet/go test -race -shuffle=on -count=1 ./..., and scripts/package-release.test.sh. This is a build-tooling patch, not a provider or output change, so it does not repeat the full historical readiness ceremony (hosted CI matrix, separate independent reviewer, native provider canary) — see release readiness for the exact scope. asset-qa.json is this release's verification record.

Keep v0.2.1 for macOS ARM64 / Linux ARM64, and for rollback on Linux x86_64. Earlier release assets remain immutable.

Grok quota correction

Grok can omit zero-valued protobuf fields. Remainder now reports zero used, 100% remaining, and zero prepaid credits when the response establishes those values, instead of partial evidence with unknown balances. Malformed supplied fields fail validation; missing entitlements remain unknown or unavailable.

This patch retains the existing command and output contracts. After upgrading, use remainder --provider grok --profile default --refresh --format json to replace an older partial cache entry. --refresh refreshes quota evidence, not credentials.

Native macOS verification covered the selected Codex, Cursor CLI Keychain, and Grok consumer file routes. Claude and other platform/account native routes remain unverified. No login, credential refresh, generative requests, consumer configuration changes, or automatic migration occurs.

Downloads

The release contains native macOS ARM64 and Linux ARM64 archives, SHA256SUMS, a pinned mise.toml, and verification.json. Each archive includes the self-contained CGO-free executable, MIT license, attributions, source manifest, skill, and installation instructions. Check the exact archive digest before extraction.

Keep v0.2.0 for rollback. Earlier release assets remain immutable. Packaged verification is recorded in verification.json; actual public-download and isolated mise-install results follow publication.

Remainder v0.2.0 adds macOS Cursor CLI quota collection through the existing Cursor Keychain entry. Use --allow-keychain-prompt for a fresh Cursor collection; help, eligible cache hits, and cached-only queries do not invoke the credential helper.

Included allowance, API/model usage, and spend limits remain separate. Cursor account identity stays unknown when the source does not establish it. Credential refresh, login, account switching, and generative requests are never performed.

The release includes native macOS ARM64 and Linux ARM64 archives, MIT and dependency notices, the standalone skill, provider documentation, exact checksums, a pinned mise configuration, and the version-specific verification record. Native canaries certify the selected Codex and macOS Cursor CLI routes only; Claude, Grok, Linux Cursor credentials, and Cursor desktop SQLite are not certified by this release.

Keep v0.1.0 for Codex rollback. Install into a separate versioned location before changing any consumer configuration. See the included release instructions and verification.json for validation scope and limits.

Remainder v0.1.0 provides the complete Codex quota slice as standalone native macOS ARM64 and Linux ARM64 binaries under the MIT license.

Select Codex explicitly to collect quota from the existing selected Codex credential file.
The CLI offers compact, JSON, and scalar outputs, weekly remaining quota and pace, bounded cache freshness, and coordinated refreshes across processes.
It does not log in, refresh credentials, or make generative requests.
Other providers are not implemented in this release.

Download the archive for your platform and verify its exact entry in SHA256SUMS before extracting.
Each archive contains the binary, MIT license, third-party notices, source documentation, release readiness record, and the Remainder agent skill.
The additional mise.toml pins version 0.1.0 and the exact platform archive checksums.
Follow docs/release.md in the archive for standalone and isolated mise installation instructions.

Built from 0b5ec43 with Go 1.27.1 and CGO disabled.
The attached verification.json records prepublication checks and their limits: 28 canonical checks, 51 packaged CLI cases, seven selected-context Codex command checks, native Linux contention, and raw benchmark samples.
Mac cache-hit p95 measured 6.242125 ms on the recorded reference host.
The mise fixture test is explicitly separate from public-download verification, which will be recorded in issue 14 after publication.

This first release coexists with other installations; retain your existing quota-axi installation for rollback.
Installing the binary does not change Pinchos, Sum, or your live consumer configuration.
