Release list
v0.1.3
A small release for agents.
Changes
- The tools of
seam mcpdescribe themselves fully: each says what it does, when to use one of the others, what taking a note means, and when it fails or refuses a note. Some MCP clients show the model only a tool's description and not the server's instructions; those agents now get the whole picture too. - The tools carry MCP annotations:
seam_notesreserves notes and is not idempotent,seam_notes_viewonly reads,seam_replywrites and is idempotent, and none of them destroys anything or reaches beyond the notes of the repository.
Install
Binaries for Linux and macOS on amd64 and arm64 below, and .deb and .rpm for Linux; checksums.txt holds their SHA-256.
brew install --cask dturcinovic/tap/seam # macOS
go install github.com/dturcinovic/seam/cmd/seam@v0.1.3 # with Go 1.27
seam upgrade # from an earlier releasev0.1.2
A small fix release.
Fixes
seam mcpanswers the requests it read before stdin ends. A client that writes its requests and closes stdin at once, as a script piping them in does, got no answer and seam mcp failed with "server is closing: EOF". It now answers each of them, waits at most five seconds for a call that hangs, and then signs the session out as before. Agents that keep stdin open, such as Claude Code and OpenCode, were not affected.
Documentation
- The README says up front what seam does differently: hover from the language server in the diff, and review notes an agent answers at the line.
- New issues offer a bug report form that asks for
seam --version, the operating system and the terminal.

seam upgrade # from an earlier releasev0.1.1
A small fix release.
Fixes
- After
Sthe footer said "notes sent to …, not taken yet" until the next key, even once the agent had taken and answered the notes. The hint now goes as soon as no sent note waits any more or the agent session is gone; if the notes file cannot be read, its error shows instead.
Documentation
- A third demo in Usage shows a note sent with
Sand answered by an agent session.

The first release of seam, a side-by-side diff viewer for the terminal that knows your code.
- Side by side, or one column when the terminal is narrow
- The changed hunks or the whole file, one file at a time or all of them in one stream
- Hover and go-to-definition through the language server, on the new side and the old one, also when comparing commits
- Syntax colours for Go, Rust, JavaScript, TypeScript, JSX, TSX, HTML, PHP and Python, and more by configuration
- Review notes: questions and findings at lines of the diff, set with a key or a click in the gutter, which follow their lines through edits and belong to the branch they were set on
seam mcp, so that an agent such as Claude Code reads your notes and answers them at the line, andSsends the waiting notes to a running sessionseam --filescompares files or directories on disk, also asgit difftool- A file list grouped by folder, and reload on change with
--watch - Keys, colours and servers configurable in one TOML file
- seam tells you of a newer release when it ends, and
seam upgradeinstalls it
