Battle Stadium D.O.N for PC 1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@dvilelaf dvilelaf released this 02 Nov 13:30

First release of the PC port of Battle Stadium D.O.N (PS2, SLPS-25675) for Linux and Windows (x86-64).

These downloads contain the program only, nothing of the game. You need a disc image of the game made from your own disc. The original Japanese image works, and so do the English fan translations by Lord Izen. On first run the program checks your image and prepares the game on your PC. This takes about 5-15 minutes, nothing is uploaded, and it only happens once.

  • Linux, AppImage: chmod +x BattleStadiumDON-1.0-x86_64.AppImage, then run it. It holds the same program as the .tar.gz; your prepared game and saves go to ~/.local/share/don.
  • Linux, archive: run tar xzf don-linux-5d2b93e.tar.gz, then ./don inside the folder.
  • Windows: unzip, then run Battle Stadium DON.exe. The Microsoft Visual C++ runtime DLLs it needs are included, so there is nothing to install.
  • Requirements: a processor with AVX2 (Intel 2013 or later, AMD Ryzen). On Windows you also need a graphics card with a Vulkan driver.
  • What works: menus, fights, videos, sound, memory card, keyboard and gamepads. Online play for up to 4 players is included but has not been tried between two PCs yet.

Those commits are not in the published history, but their code is identical to this commit: the history was squashed, and only documentation differs.
