SpeakTab 10.14.54 — parts, lyric word context and microphone controls
SpeakTab 10.14.54 adds broader score-part reading, lyric word context and clearer microphone reply controls.
- Choose MusicXML and MuseScore parts with Ctrl+T, including individual SATB voices.
- Read aligned lyric syllables while navigating; F3 explains the complete word when supplied notation establishes it.
- Hear matching local previews for recognized instruments, including harp, wordless choir and assigned drum kits. Playback is one selected part at a time; lyrics are not sung.
- Ctrl+Alt+L explicitly announces the free microphone on/off state. F9 stops the separate AI teacher.
- Choose spoken replies or screen-reader-only text. Starting AI conversation preserves the choice, and live output can be muted without ending input.
- Playback confirmations refer to the selected musical part.
Download SpeakTab-Windows.zip, extract the complete folder and run SpeakTab.exe. Windows with .NET Framework 4.8 is required. The in-app updater uses that same complete ZIP. No separate music application is required to read supported files. Fixed local voice recognition needs Windows English speech recognition and microphone permission. Optional AI requires separate setup and may incur provider charges.
Read SpeakTab.54.Changes.and.Current.Controls.txt first. The retained version 53 Word manual/Quick Start and earlier supplements remain references for unchanged features; they have not been relabelled as 54 editions. SpeakTab-Source.zip is the complete development handoff; GitHub's automatic source archives are only the small repository snapshot.
Piano pedal playback is approximate. Unknown instrument assignments are not guessed. Complex notation, unusual score jumps, complete expressive performance, ensemble playback and sung lyrics remain limited. Software regression checks passed; physical microphone, listening and screen-reader acceptance of these latest changes remains pending.
No private music, saved readings, settings, diagnostic dumps or genuine-score regression corpus is included. Prior releases are preserved.
