🛠️ BS2B Binaural Crossfeed Spatial Audio

In this release, we completely overhauled the Spatial Audio pipeline to deliver a natural, studio-quality headphone listening experience based on the Bauer Binaural Crossfeed (BS2B) DSP algorithm.

  • Bit-Exact Pass-through (OFF): When Spatial Audio is turned off, the audio engine operates in a pure 1:1 bit-exact pass-through mode, streaming raw PCM directly to your audio device without any modification.
  • Bauer Binaural Crossfeed (ON): When enabled, a frequency-selective low-pass crossfeed (~700 Hz cutoff with ~4.5 dB crossfeed attenuation) gently widens the stereo soundstage to reduce listener fatigue.
  • Zero Phase Artifacts: Replaced previous HRTF/Atmos passthrough attempts with clean BS2B DSP—preserving 100% of center vocal clarity and bass punch without hollow room reverb.
  • OS-Independent: Fully processed inside the application pipeline as standard PCM, working seamlessly regardless of Windows Spatial Audio settings.

  • Windows: Download and run YTMHybrid-Setup.exe directly (Installer / Standalone).
  • Linux (Debian/Ubuntu/Mint): Download and install ytm-hybrid_0.2.0-1_amd64.deb.
  • Linux (Generic Tarball): Download ytm-hybrid-v0.2.0-linux-x64.tar.gz, extract and run ./ytm-hybrid.

First official release of YTM Hybrid, an ultra-fast, native YouTube Music desktop client built with Rust and GPUI.
