Downbit 0.2.7
- A download whose streams need FFmpeg to merge gets FFmpeg then, and
merges them, rather than failing once they're downloaded. Formats that
only FFmpeg merges, as WebM, get it before they download. - A quality chosen in the preview survives a retry. When the site lists
other formats on the next look, as YouTube may, the download takes the
best there is up to that quality, rather than failing with "no format". - The library chooses several downloads at once: ticks on the pictures,
Cmd- and Shift-clicks, the arrows, Cmd+A, or a sweep from between the
tiles. A bar over the list pauses, resumes, retries, reveals, copies the
links of, removes or trashes them together, and a drag carries all
their files. Removing has an Undo.
Downbit 0.2.6
downbit mcpkeeps its web view past the first video that needs one:
each script's hidden window was the only window, and closing it quit
the app's event loop, so later calls in the same process failed and
calls that ran in parallel crashed. The command line's downloads run
their scripts the same way, so they're fixed too.- A script whose window closes gets an error rather than waiting forever.
Downbit 0.2.5
- Photo posts download whole. A post of pictures, on Instagram, Threads,
X, Bluesky, Reddit, Tumblr, Pinterest, Imgur, TikTok, Xiaohongshu,
Douyin or Weibo, saves as the post is: one picture as a file, several
in a folder, in the post's order, with the videos among them. - Nothing downloads twice while its file is there, whichever link leads
to it. The field's panel says when a link is Already downloaded, and
its button says Download Again; Settings › General turns the skipping
off, and--forcedownloads it anyway. - What needs Pro offers it there and then, in a sheet over what asked
for it. Starting the trial, or activating a key, goes on with the
download or the setting that asked, rather than asking for it again. - Settings › General › Folders for a media server (Pro) lays videos out
as Plex, Jellyfin, Emby and Kodi list them, a channel as a show with
its seasons, .nfo files and thumbnails, in place of the folders and
file name there.downbit get --media-serverdoes it for one
download. - AI agents can look at links and download them:
downbit mcpserves
them over MCP, on stdio, and Settings › Command Line › AI agents has
the settings to paste into an agent's own.
Downbit 0.2.4
- Xiaohongshu posts download again. Xiaohongshu showed Downbit its
sign-in page rather than the post; Downbit now asks for a post as a
browser does, and finds its video when you're signed in too. - Errors show in the app's language: in Chinese, a download that fails
says why in Chinese. - The browser's side panel no longer offers Download Video and Audio
for the page, which couldn't download anything on a site Downbit
doesn't support. On such a site the panel says so, and the media the
page plays, listed below, is what to download. Download Page in the
toolbar is off there, unless the page embeds a supported site's player. - The preview's Subtitles pill picks languages rather than tracks, as
yt-dlp's --sub-langs does: a playlist offers the languages of its
first item, and downloads its items' subtitles in those chosen.
Downbit 0.2.3
- The preview panel has a Subtitles pill, of a link that has any, that
picks the tracks to download from the link's own, and shows how many
are chosen. Subtitles YouTube wrote from the speech are marked as the
machine's, and a language takes the subtitles people wrote before it
takes the machine's. - Cmd+V puts a copied link in the field, wherever the focus is in the
window, not only from the field or as a download from the list.
