What's new

  • Improved light-theme readability for analysis headers and dialog actions.
  • Added optional manual selection of all copies in Duplicate Finder, with two explicit warnings. Keeping one copy remains the default; protected files stay locked.
  • Significantly improved Restore all performance. A local 120-file test improved from approximately 39 seconds to 1.0–1.2 seconds; results vary by system and workload.
  • Restored files now return to retained Duplicate Finder results after verification, without repeating the analysis.
  • Fixed control availability after scans and file actions.
  • Improved Windows long-path handling for file actions and Recycle Bin restoration.
  • Fixed opening large saved full-drive scans by increasing the total path budget from 64 Mi to 256 Mi characters and aligning save/open validation. Existing supported archives remain compatible; large scans and comparisons require additional RAM.

The native NTFS scanner is unchanged. This release does not introduce new scan-speed claims.

Downloads

  • Diskoryx-Setup-1.0.5.exe — standard per-user Windows installation.
  • Diskoryx-Portable-1.0.5.exe — launch without installation.
  • SHA256SUMS-1.0.5.txt — SHA-256 checksums for both downloads.

Before upgrading

Close Diskoryx before installing. To upgrade, use the same installation folder; no prior uninstall is needed. Back up %APPDATA%\Diskoryx V1 first, especially if you have pending History restore records. Installed and portable editions share this profile.

Important notes

  • Windows x64 only. These builds are unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen may show a warning.
  • Launch normally; only the separate NTFS scanner requests elevation when needed.
  • Donations are optional. No features require payment, and disk analysis runs locally, offline.
  • Review file actions carefully and keep backups. Identical contents do not prove a copy is unnecessary.
  • History can restore files only while the matching items remain in the Recycle Bin. Occupied destinations are not overwritten.
  • Reported sizes are logical file sizes, not guaranteed recoverable disk space.
  • The final Recycle Bin move remains path-based; verification cannot eliminate every file-change race.
  • Existing-History retention through a real v1.0.4 upgrade and clean-account install/uninstall acceptance remain unverified.

Verification

493 automated tests passed. Real Electron checks covered duplicate cleanup, individual and bulk restore, long paths, destination conflicts and both appearances. The rebuilt packages also opened an existing full-drive archive containing approximately 964,000 files.

These checks are not a guarantee of compatibility with every Windows configuration.
