Can you please expand on use cases? I am wondering if this is worth a mailing list discussion. Especially because nowhere in Elixir we have pop with a function I think. And maybe this should be filter_first or something of sorts. Or filter_n?

For my specific use case, I'm testing equality, so the second element could be an item in the list. I just thought a function would be more generally useful.
