Problem
EmDash doesn’t support Netlify the way it supports Node and Cloudflare. With
@astrojs/netlify, local media storage fails because Function disks are ephemeral, andemdash/storage/s3isn’t a fit for Netlify Blobs (not S3-compatible for that adapter; no signed upload URLs). Scheduled publish also assumes a long-lived process:generateSchedulerModuleonly nullscreateSchedulerfor@astrojs/cloudflare, so Netlify still getsNodeCronScheduler, which dies between Function invocations.Use case
EmDash on an Astro site deployed to Netlify:
libsql()for contentCurrent workarounds
Site-local package:
packages/emdash-netlifyStorageon@netlify/blobs.getSignedUploadUrlthrowsNOT_SUPPORTED, so the admin uploads through the API (same as local storage).astro devstill uses disk.* * * * *) POSTs to an on-demand Astro route that callsrunScheduledTasks()in the server bundle. Virtual modules aren’t available in a standalone function.A plugin can’t fix the scheduler adapter check. Upstream I’d want: treat
@astrojs/netlifylike Cloudflare for the scheduler, and ship something like@emdash-cms/netlifyfor Blobs. Happy to PR after the design lands.Note that I vibed
packages/emdash-netlify, so maybe not the best implementation. 🙈This works really well for my own site atm, nickyt.co
