Kennel 2.0.0: A new workspace for your AI agents
Kennel 2.0 turns the terminal page into a full workspace. It adds a fast terminal that renders with OpenGL on all platforms. Review Buddy now runs as a fully autonomous second agent.
Highlights
- New main window. One notebook holds every session and file. A Side Bar has a File Explorer and a Git view. An Activity pane shows which sessions are working, done or blocked.
- Fast terminal on all platforms. It supports OSC 9;4 progress bars, OSC 7501 program status, copy and paste, and TUI mouse events. File links follow
cdand open at the referenced line. - Review Buddy. A second agent reviews your agent's work. It sends the findings back and the first agent fixes them. This repeats until the review is clean or the round limit is reached, with no user intervention.
- Git in the Side Bar. You can stage, reset, commit, push, pull, blame and view diffs. It works for local folders, WSL and remote hosts, and you can set any folder as the root.
- Archive sessions. Archive a session and restore it later with its conversation.
- Goto Anything (Ctrl+Shift+P). One search box for any command, page or action.
- First-start setup. Kennel detects Claude Code, Codex and Kiro, including those in WSL and on SSH hosts.
- Themes. The whole application can follow the terminal theme, dark or light.
- Windows. It ships a newer ConPTY, and the installer is now built on GitHub Actions.
Upgrading
Building from source needs wxWidgets 3.3.4. Delete .build-release/wxWidgets and .build-release/wxWidgets-install, then rebuild. The session tree and flat list are gone, and the terminal has no right-click menu. Use the toolbar above the terminal instead.
