Danger Room (Hardlight) v1.0.2 for Android

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 02 Nov 16:38

Hardlight 1.0.2 adds local caching for Cover Slideshow.

  • Cache downloaded artwork for six months (180 days), with a 300 MB limit enabled by default.
  • Adjust the limit in slideshow settings, or disable it to cache as much as the device permits.
  • When full, retain existing cached covers and continue displaying uncached covers from the network without saving them. Lowering the limit removes the least recently used files.
  • Flush cache deletes downloaded slideshow artwork immediately.
  • At slideshow initialization, remove cached files outside the eligible playlist in the background, including black-bagged and no-longer-owned covers.
  • Cache failures or insufficient storage do not stop playback. Android may reclaim cache storage. Inventory still requires server access.

Update DangerRoom to β-028 and install Hardlight 1.0.2. The container serves cache settings and 180-day image cache headers; the APK implements local disk storage. Use the existing backup/rebuild procedure. No schema migration is needed.

Android 9 or newer; versionCode 15; display name Danger Room; application ID net.chateaulore.hardlight. Install over your signed Hardlight app to retain credentials and slideshow preferences.

Includes signed DangerRoom.apk, SHA256SUMS.txt, and SIGNING-CERTIFICATE.txt. Obtainium can track this normal release.

Danger Room (Hardlight) v1.0.1 for Android

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 01 Nov 18:57

Hardlight 1.0.1 improves Cover Slideshow recovery during container restarts and connection interruptions.

  • Failed covers stay in rotation until three strikes. If a previously failed cover loads successfully, all remaining covers' strikes reset to zero. Healthy covers with no strikes do not reset other covers' failures.
  • Failed loads wait 3 seconds before trying the next cover. Stalled image loading or decoding times out after 20 seconds. The last visible cover stays on screen during failures.
  • An empty playlist shows a spinner and waits 10 minutes before rebuilding from the full eligible collection with fresh strike counts. Failed initialization repeats at 10-minute intervals. Covers removed after three strikes return on reinitialization.

Update DangerRoom to β-027 before using the new slideshow behavior. Playback code is served by the container; existing APKs also receive the fix after exiting and reopening the slideshow once after the server update. Updating only the APK does not update the server.

Android 9 or newer; versionCode 14; display name Danger Room; application ID net.chateaulore.hardlight. Install over signed Hardlight 1.0.0 to retain device credentials and slideshow preferences. No database migration is required for this update.

Includes signed DangerRoom.apk, SHA256SUMS.txt, and SIGNING-CERTIFICATE.txt. Obtainium can track this normal release.

Danger Room (Hardlight) v1.0.0 for Android

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 01 Nov 14:30

Hardlight 1.0.0 is the first major release of the DangerRoom Android companion.

The menu contains Want List, My Collection, Search Metron, Cover Slideshow, and Reading Log. Text-based Metron search, exact variant selection, collection tracking, personal ratings, reading history, and slideshow settings remain available.

Experimental camera cover search has been removed entirely: no OCR, barcode capture, perspective correction, image hashing, scan settings, or scan uploads. Camera and recognition SDKs are no longer bundled.

Update DangerRoom to β-025 or later before installing this APK. The server removes scan lookup/retention endpoints and its export utility. Schema 7 deletes retained diagnostic scan images and hashes while preserving collection data and saved provider artwork.

Android 9 or newer; versionCode 13; display name Danger Room; application ID net.chateaulore.hardlight. Install over signed Hardlight 0.1.4 to retain credentials and slideshow preferences. Obsolete scan settings and the app-owned camera file are cleared.

Includes signed DangerRoom.apk, SHA256SUMS.txt, and SIGNING-CERTIFICATE.txt. Obtainium can track this normal release.

Danger Room (Hardlight) v0.1.4 for Android

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 01 Nov 13:44

Hardlight 0.1.4 retains the last ten submitted cover scans on your DangerRoom instance for image-matching diagnostics.

Before searching, the app uploads a lossless PNG of the exact bitmap used for pHash, its 16-digit hash, capture mode, UUID, and app version. The server adds dimensions, receipt time, a checksum, and a retained scan ID. Failed Metron matches are retained. Cancelled/retaken previews are not uploaded. Both perspective-corrected and optional OCR/barcode modes are supported; OCR remains off by default.

The result screen shows Retained scan #ID. Scans are stored together in SQLite, shared across devices, with only the newest ten retained. Authentication is required to retrieve photographs. A server CLI exports the PNGs and a manifest for comparison. Only the fingerprint or legacy search terms are sent to Metron.

Update DangerRoom to β-024 before installing this APK. Reverse proxies must allow PNG uploads up to 25 MiB. An upload failure stays on the preview for retry instead of silently searching without a retained image.

Android 9 or newer; versionCode 12; app ID net.chateaulore.hardlight. Install over signed Hardlight 0.1.3. Signed APK, SHA256SUMS.txt, and SIGNING-CERTIFICATE.txt included; supported by Obtainium.

Danger Room (Hardlight) v0.1.3 for Android

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 01 Nov 13:13

Hardlight 0.1.3 adds perspective correction using the same ML Kit document scanner as Lumiere.

Capture the cover, place all four corner posts accurately using the scanner’s magnified view, and finish to straighten its perspective. Review the corrected cover before Find matching covers, or Retake/Cancel. The corrected image is hashed on your phone; only the fingerprint goes to DangerRoom.

Scanner base mode avoids document-cleanup filters. Google Play services is required and may download scanning components on first use. If unavailable, Retry/Cancel are offered; Search Metron remains available from the menu.

OCR/barcodes remain off by default and can still be enabled in Scan settings. Metron still requires an exact main-cover hash match; glare and variant artwork may prevent results.

Android 9 or newer; versionCode 11; app ID net.chateaulore.hardlight. Requires server β-022 or later; no new server API is required. Install over signed Hardlight 0.1.2 to retain settings.

Includes signed DangerRoom.apk, SHA256SUMS.txt, and SIGNING-CERTIFICATE.txt. Normal release supported by Obtainium.

Danger Room (Hardlight) v0.1.2 for Android

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 31 Oct 23:52

Hardlight 0.1.2 introduces experimental artwork-only Scan Cover. Crop the photographed cover, then search Metron with an ImageHash-compatible pHash calculated on the phone. Only the fingerprint leaves the phone.

OCR and barcodes remain bundled and inactive by default. Scan Cover → Scan settings → Enable OCR and barcode lookup restores the previous flow. The checkbox starts unchecked and persists after Save.

Metron requires an exact hash match against the main issue cover. Glare, perspective, crop differences, and variants can prevent a match. Confirm issue and cover before saving.

Requires server β-022 or later. Android 9 or newer; versionCode 10; app ID net.chateaulore.hardlight. Install over existing signed Hardlight.

Includes signed DangerRoom.apk, SHA256SUMS.txt, and SIGNING-CERTIFICATE.txt. Normal release supported by Obtainium.

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 31 Oct 21:05

Hardlight 0.1.1 applies the approved launcher icon: red background, thin near-black outline around the circular mask, and a dark-red shadow cast toward the lower right. The artwork and palette match the existing loading screen. Adaptive launcher shapes and legacy icon sizes are included.

The installed display name remains Danger Room and the app ID remains net.chateaulore.hardlight. Android 9 or newer; versionCode 9. Install over Hardlight 0.1.0 to retain settings. No server update is required.

The signed DangerRoom.apk, SHA256SUMS.txt, and public SIGNING-CERTIFICATE.txt are included. Obtainium can track this normal release without prereleases enabled.

Validation: Android unit tests, lint, release build, APK identity and signature verification. Launcher artwork was checked with circular and rounded-square masks against the approved mockup.

Danger Room (Hardlight) v0.1.0-beta.21 for Android

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 31 Oct 20:35

Hardlight is the Android client for the DangerRoom web app. Its installed display name is Danger Room; its application ID is net.chateaulore.hardlight.

This first Hardlight release installs separately from the older net.chateaulore.dangerroom client and can coexist with it. Configure the instance hostname and server-issued device ID/secret in the new app. The old app and server collection are not changed. This APK uses the signing key configured by the repository owner in GitHub Actions; future Hardlight releases must retain that key and app ID.

Download DangerRoom.apk and check SHA256SUMS.txt. SIGNING-CERTIFICATE.txt contains public certificate metadata for verifying the signer. Android 9 or newer; versionCode 7.

Includes full comic barcode capture with positional OCR recovery for printed five-digit supplements, exact-cover Add/Want/Read controls from an updated server, and the existing collection, Want List, reading log, search, and full-screen cover slideshow.

For Obtainium, use this GitHub repository as the source and enable prerelease updates while releases are labeled beta. Track the new Hardlight application ID. Subsequent signed Hardlight APKs install as updates over this release.
