1.4.14

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 24 Oct 13:27

Fixed

  • Rebuilt with flarum-webpack-config 3.1.0, TypeScript 5.9, Prettier 3.9.10 and webpack-cli 7, the tooling Flarum announced in this post. Its lazily loaded parts now have a chunk store of their own, so they can no longer clash with another extension's and break the page.

1.4.13

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 22 Oct 11:37

Fixed

  • The composer on phones fills the screen, and its buttons stay in reach. On a phone, the preview button and the buttons other extensions add to the editor (FoF Upload, Mentions, emoji pickers) were drawn below the white composer panel, over the discussion behind it. In Firefox they ended up under the on-screen keyboard. They now sit in Scribe's toolbar, above the text, styled like the formatting buttons. The composer fills the screen down to the top of the keyboard in Chrome, Firefox and Safari, so the page behind no longer shows through. The send button stays in the composer's header. Desktop is unchanged. Thanks to Dr_Sommer for the report and screenshots.

1.4.12

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 19 Oct 12:17

Fixed

  • Cells copied from Excel now paste as a table, not as a picture. Excel puts a picture of the copied cells on the clipboard next to the table itself. On forums running FoF Upload, Scribe let the picture win, so the table was uploaded as image.png. When the clipboard holds a table, the table now goes in and nothing is uploaded. The same goes for Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc and Numbers. Thanks to Wil Vincent for the report.
  • Pasted tables come in clean. Spreadsheet styling (fonts, colours, fixed column widths, blank-cell padding) is dropped, so the table looks like every other table in the post and stays readable on dark themes. Merged cells, bold and italic are kept, and a bold first row becomes the header row. Copying a single cell pastes just its value.
  • Tab-separated text pastes as a table. Rows copied from Numbers or a plain-text file, with columns separated by tabs, become a table. Inside a code block, or when pasting as plain text with Shift, they stay as text.

Pasting a screenshot or any other image on its own still uploads it as before.

1.4.11

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 18 Oct 21:27

Fixed

  • Pasting from Word no longer turns the rest of a post italic. Word puts each endnote mark on the clipboard in square brackets, and its first endnote is numbered i, so it pasted as [i]. That's the code for italic, and nothing closed it. Footnote and endnote marks pasted from Word now come in as plain superscripts (¹, ⁱ), the way they look in Word. Thanks to Wil Vincent for the report and the sample document.

1.4.10

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 16 Oct 18:32

Fixed

  • Toolbar buttons that other extensions add, such as Recipes' Recipe button, now show their own names in the admin toolbar builder. Before, the builder showed a raw translation key like ernestdefoe-scribe.lib.buttons.recipe. The composer toolbar was already right.

1.4.9

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 16 Oct 13:16

Fixed

  • Clicking Reply (or Write a Reply) now puts the cursor in the editor, so you can start typing straight away. Before, focus landed on the toolbar's Bold button and you had to click into the editor first. Starting a discussion still puts the cursor in the title.

Thanks to Dr_Sommer for the report.

1.4.8

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 15 Oct 11:52

Fixed

  • Every editor label (including the colour picker and emoji field labels) now goes through Flarum's translator, so the whole extension can be translated (with a language pack or FoF Linguist). Nothing changes for English forums.

1.4.7 — code blocks show just the code

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 12 Oct 11:56

Code blocks show just the code

Fixed

  • Code blocks no longer show a literal <code> around their contents. The editor writes a code block as <pre><code>…</code></pre>, and Scribe was keeping the inner <code> as text. Code blocks now show only the code, and keep their syntax highlighting.

After updating

Run the migration. It repairs posts and private messages already saved with this problem, or with the stray </p> after an uploaded file fixed in 1.4.6. Only affected content written with Scribe is touched, and nothing is marked as edited or sends notifications again.

composer update ernestdefoe/scribe
php flarum migrate
php flarum cache:clear

1.4.6 — uploaded files no longer leave a stray </p>

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 12 Oct 11:43

Uploaded files no longer leave a stray </p>

Fixed

  • A file uploaded with FoF Upload no longer shows a stray </p> after its download button. Scribe keeps text in paragraphs, and FoF Upload draws a file as a block, which a paragraph can't contain. So the paragraph was closed early and its own closing tag was printed as text. Files, image cards and text previews are now placed between paragraphs instead of inside one. Inline image previews are unchanged.

Posts saved before this update keep the stray tag until they're edited and saved once.

Thanks to Wil Vincent for the report.

composer update ernestdefoe/scribe
php flarum cache:clear

1.4.5 — ampersands and pasted text show properly

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 10 Oct 15:09

Fixed

  • & and spaces showed as &amp; and &nbsp; in posts. Scribe saves what you write as HTML, and its formatter wasn't decoding HTML entities. Any ampersand, and text pasted from Word or WordPress (non-breaking spaces, curly quotes), showed the literal entity instead of the character. Entities are now decoded. A < typed as text stays text.
  • Posts already affected are repaired by the update. A one-time migration reparses the posts Scribe stored that way. Posts written in Markdown are never touched, and repaired posts aren't marked as edited.
  • Page Builder article bodies written with Scribe display correctly as soon as you update. Nothing needs re-pasting.
