Repository navigation
Hi all
This is a big one, so a few lines on what changes for you before you run planetai update.
Most of the work went into the inside of the node. Until now the core knew every sensor brand and every
integration by name. In this release Smart Citizen, AirGradient, PurpleAir, Home Assistant, the cameras and species,
the things a home keeps and the CAMS air model became packs, and the core keeps what every node needs. A node that
runs fewer things loads fewer things, and adding a new brand or a new place means writing a pack, the core stays as
it is.
What you will notice
- Water: a new issue,
water, shows where the next day's rain goes from your point, from a terrain model and the
forecast. Addwaterto what this place watches in Set up › Basics. It's context, no alerts yet. - Grafana: if you want your own charts over your node's readings,
planetai grafanastarts it, and Set up ›
System tells you whether it's running and how to open it. It reads the raw readings with the room names, so it only
listens on the node's own machine unless you open it. - Set up is easier to read: the menu is in five groups and each section tells you what it holds when you point at
it. Under Packs, each pack is one line you open when you need it. - Faster pages: the main page's data used to take five or six seconds on our node in Bali, now it's under one,
and it travels compressed, about six times smaller, which you'll notice most on a phone. - AirGradient and PurpleAir monitors are read again: an update in September stopped reading them by mistake; if
you listed one in Set up, it comes back. - Fixes: the trust card stopped calling a working sensor frozen at night, the Wall writes its story again, the
ask box works like a chat again, and the radio gateway restarts on its own when the radio is unplugged.
What the update does
- If you keep a list of packs in Set up, the update adds the packs that used to be core features you were using, so
nothing switches off. If your list is empty, you already run every pack and nothing changes. - The Reticulum bridge now comes from its own repository, fabcity/planetai-reticulum, pinned by this release.
- Your readings and your settings stay where they are. As always, the update makes a backup first.
After updating
Open Set up › Packs and check the list looks like your node. If something you use is off, switch it on there and
tell us, because the update should have done it.
The full list of changes is in the CHANGELOG.
all the best
