OneOS 0.4.58: hotspot internet, SMS shown as sent, Samsung Camera lenses, Dynamic Island lined up, Galaxy S26 Exynos starts

OneOS 0.4.51 or newer offers this update on its launch screen (Update banner). After updating, set your system up again so the new files download.

Hotspot

• Devices connected to the hotspot in a guest system now get internet. They used to connect and get an address, but nothing loaded: one of OneOS's own network rules sent their traffic back out the wrong way.

SMS

• An SMS that was sent no longer shows "not sent". The guest already falls back from IMS to the mobile network the way One UI does, and the message goes out; Samsung's radio then reports the result with no details, which the guest read as a failure (and some messaging apps sent the text again).

Samsung Camera on bar phones (untested)

• Since 0.4.55 the S26 Ultra camera on bar phones was missing OneOS's change that tells the phone's camera it is Samsung's own app, so the phone treated it as a third-party camera (very likely why only one lens worked, and no Samsung processing). Fixed in ColorOS, Pixel, Infinity-X and Nothing OS. Please try 0.5x, 3x and 5x in good light and send a report.

Galaxy S26 (Exynos) starts (untested)

• ColorOS and Pixel stopped at the boot logo and returned to One UI: OneOS's own boot screen made One UI rewrite files the guest had just loaded. Fixed for every phone.

Dynamic Island and status bar

• Every system now takes the camera hole from your phone itself, in full-panel pixels: ColorOS's Dynamic Island and status bar icons are centred on the real camera (they used One UI's whole cutout box, or 3/4 of it at FHD+, and the Find X9 Ultra's taller status bar), fold covers get their own camera position, and HyperOS no longer uses a Xiaomi phone's corner cutout (the clock was pushed in on the A56). Untested: please send a screenshot if anything is still off.

Stability

• Galaxy S24 (Exynos), A16 4G and A17: the phone no longer restarts about 100 seconds into a session (Samsung's software watchdog was not kept fed). OneOS now feeds exactly the watchdog One UI was using.

ColorOS

• Turning on Do Not Disturb no longer crashes the system (Galaxies have no notification light).
• The icon style screen no longer crashes on Apply, and the launcher's blur (app drawer, folders) is on.
• Location indoors: turn on Settings > Location > Location services > Google Location Accuracy in ColorOS once. The guest skips the setup wizard that normally asks for it, so until then only GPS (outdoors) works.

Sound

• Speaker sound in guests is flatter than One UI because none of Samsung's Dolby/SoundAlive speaker tuning runs there. A Dolby experiment is included but off; reports of rings and vibration are now kept in a small log of their own.

Known issues

• Galaxy A57/A26 camera needs a camera built from an A phone.
• Tablets (Android 16): the OnePlus Pad image is built and runs on these tablets' processors; the port comes in a separate update, tested on a tablet first.
