Requires gpuwm 2.8.0 (gpuwm>=2.8.0,<2.8.1).
New
gpuwm-hex forecastruns frompip install gpuwm-hex. The forecast driver, the proof harness, the mesh registry and the limited-area contract deck ship in the package, and the physics seam defaults to the installed gpuwm.--gpuwm-checkoutis optional.gpuwm-hex forecast --preset NAME.referenceis the default.fastholds the surface layer, Noah-MP and YSU for up to 30 s between calls; it is about 6 percent faster per step and less skillful on 10 m wind, 2 m temperature and 2 m dewpoint.- Further physics-backend rows load through the
gpuwm_hex.rowsentry-point group. tools/point_source_placement.py place --target LAT LON --alt-m Zplaces a tracer release line upwind of a target in the control leg's own wind.
Changed
- The physics seam is pinned to gpuwm 2.8.0. Eight of the sixteen pinned engine files moved since 2.7.4; the seam A/B, a 10-minute point-cull forecast and the contract deck are byte-identical across the two engines.
- The per-step rollback export runs only under
--stop-on-refusal: about 12 percent less time per step on a 43,884-cell mesh, history frames unchanged.
Fixed
gpuwm-hex doctorreports a bridge binary without its executable bit as missing and prints thechmod +xthat fixes it.- Forecast receipts name the engine that ran.
- Receipts identify the machine by a salted digest instead of its network name.
- The cycle door no longer requires
--gpuwm-checkout. --convectionhelp states the default and the reason for it.- NOTICE credits the MPAS-Tools
grid_rotate.f90formula, the MPAS-Atmosphere v8.2.3 oracle transcriptions and the WRF lineage of the gravity-wave-drag operator. - Documentation and message cleanup.
