• Global and variable-resolution forecasts draw their first maps the moment the forecast writes its first frame, instead of after the whole forecast.
• 1 km limited-area runs start faster: a regional target of a global parent reads only the parent cells around it, boundary frames are remapped concurrently, and a premade variable-resolution mesh and its static are fetched instead of rebuilt.
• First maps open on 2 m temperature, 10 m wind and CAPE, and on reflectivity from its first echo.

Fixed

• Every hex map carries a labelled latitude and longitude graticule.
• gpuwm-hex global, mesh-plan, regional, country, moving and forecast take --model-label and --brand and pass them to the point soundings and meteograms. With gpuwm 2.9.6 or later, the brand is drawn in bold at the top right.
