FlickFlick 1.15.2-dev.1 (Dev)

FlickFlick 1.15.1

FlickFlick 1.15.1: weather on the ring and island, Mirror in the island, and screenshot tools.

The Island

• Mirror (new tab): your camera in the island, in the camera's shape. Space toggles it, and it stays open after you leave until you pick another tab.
• Lyrics pop out, and the island picks up colours from the album art.
• Settings → Island is its own page now.
• Leaving it folds it with the distance, and it lets go some way off. Closing eases out instead of snapping shut. The Hide hint is one short line with a ring.
• Windows: it stays on top of the window in front and opens in full screen. The top edge opens it again even after the app has run a while. In Do Not Disrupt, the top edge opens it only with Ctrl held.

Weather (new)

• Rain, snow, fog and sun effects on the ring and the island. Trying one in Settings shows it on both.

Screenshot

• Extract text, Read QR and Search similar.

Snippets

• Choose how a date looks from a list of real results.

Also

• Less RAM: the Dock icon shows only when it has something to show, and the ring trims itself while hidden.

Download

• macOS, Apple Silicon: FlickFlick-mac-apple-silicon.dmg
• macOS, Intel: FlickFlick-mac-intel.dmg
• Windows 10/11: FlickFlick-Setup-windows.exe

FlickFlick 1.15.0

FlickFlick 1.15: the Island, Picture in Picture, and games in search.

The Island (new: Settings → Preferences → Island)

• What's playing at the top of your screen, around the notch: the record, the song, a seek bar, controls and synced lyrics, under the controls or beside them.
• Hold the pointer at the top edge: a ring fills, and the island opens with a tap on the trackpad. Passing by opens nothing.
• Tabs for Music, Shortcuts (your apps, files, links and actions) and Shelf. Drop files on it to share, convert, or keep them for later.
• Nothing playing? It offers the places you listen, like the media ring's Play.
• Steps aside while a video is full screen. Hide it with one click; hold the top edge to bring it back.
• Three shapes (Drop, Seamless, Floating), its own opacity, and FlickFlick's styles, Liquid Glass included.

Picture in Picture (new)

• Any video in a small window that stays on top: crop it to the video with a magnifier, snap it to the edges, tuck it away at the side, and play, pause or skip from it. Start it from the island or the Picture in Picture action.

Media ring

• SYNC on the record starts over with the player when it's out of step.
• Firefox: a YouTube video no longer shows as LIVE when Firefox gives no length, and 0:00 after a seek or a closed tab no longer sticks.

Search

• Games: roll a number, dice (d6, d20…) and flip a coin, with animations.
• Recent apps, files, web searches and snippets when the box is empty, and in each scope.
• A Copy button under clipboard and snippet previews; Edit snippet from ⌘K, and ⌘K's menu filters as you type.

Also

• Double-tap ⌘ ⌥ ⌃ ⇧ or fn to open a ring or command (macOS).
• Eject checks the disks are really gone, and ⌘ picks one when there are several.
• Tooltips on every icon button.

Download

• macOS, Apple Silicon: FlickFlick-mac-apple-silicon.dmg
• macOS, Intel: FlickFlick-mac-intel.dmg
