flim v.26.10.30
Two fixes from @cashflowbeatz, and flimrooms 0.2.25 with direct sample transfers.
Fixed
- Big note edits no longer get lost: when a single edit changed the notes in 8 or more patterns at once (for example transposing or editing many patterns together), flim mistook it for a project being opened and didn't send it. Now it's sent. Opening a project is still recognized and never sent as edits.
- Samples on another person's network share (
\\PC\share\...) are now always downloaded like any other sample. Before, flim first tried to open that network location on your PC, which meant connecting to whatever computer the other person's path pointed at.
Both fixes were found by cashflowbeatz in Rooms and applied to flim's own engine.
Rooms: flimrooms 0.2.25
- Samples can go directly between the people in a room (encrypted peer-to-peer). Each new sample is still uploaded to his server once as a backup, for late joiners and for networks where a direct connection fails. Everyone in the room needs 0.2.25 for direct transfers.
- 34 reliability fixes for notes, the playlist and sample transfers (from his 0.2.24).
- Closing the flimrooms window keeps it running in the background while its FL Studio is open. Open it again to get the window back.
- Download
flim-rooms-0.2.25-win64.exebelow and put it in theroomsfolder next toflim.exe(replace the old 0.2.23 file). Rooms is entirely cashflowbeatz's work.
Updating
Download flim-client-win64.zip, unzip it over your old copy, and run flim.exe. This version works together with v26.10.29, so you don't have to update at the same time. FL Studio 2025 build 25.2.3.5171 (or 25.1.6.4997).
Credits
Huge thanks to @cashflowbeatz for both fixes and for flimrooms 0.2.24 / 0.2.25 (from his pull request #2).

flim v.26.10.29
Merge or Lock, glowing edits, far fewer lost edits, and Rooms by @cashflowbeatz.
New
- Lock or Merge for notes: whoever hosts chooses what happens when two people edit the same instrument in the same pattern at once. Lock = one person at a time (as before). Merge = both people's notes are kept. Hover the (i) in the Host dialog for the difference. Merge is cashflowbeatz's note merging.
- See what others just changed: their new or changed notes and clips glow in their color and fade out over 1.5 s. When they turn a knob, the window it's in glows (the plugin or effect window, or the channel rack / mixer).
- Rooms: a new Rooms button opens flimrooms, which is entirely cashflowbeatz's work: his app, his relay and his flim engine. Create or join a room with a name and an 8-digit code. Rooms sessions run through his server and don't mix with Host / Connect. Download
flim-rooms-0.2.23-win64.exebelow (portable, separate from flim) and put it in aroomsfolder next toflim.exe. - Tempo, main volume, main pitch and shuffle now sync.
Fixed
- Knobs jumping back or resetting to default after someone else's change (e.g. after moving an instrument to another mixer track).
- Edits disappearing ("dropped inputs") while a plugin was being updated on the other side.
- Smaller locks so you rarely block each other: notes per instrument within a pattern, the playlist per track, each plugin knob on its own.
- Fast knob and tempo scrolling sends the latest value instead of every step.
In our stress test (two people editing as fast as possible), lost knob, note and clip edits went from 52 to 0 when working on different things.
Update together
Everyone in a session needs this version (notes and clips use new messages). Download flim-client-win64.zip, unzip it over your old copy, and run flim.exe. FL Studio 2025 build 25.2.3.5171 (or 25.1.6.4997).

flim v.26.10.23
Fixes a crash in mixed-build sessions. Everyone in a session now needs the same FL Studio build: if the host's build differs from yours, flim tells you and leaves the session instead of loading a project your FL can't handle safely.
Download flim-client-win64.zip, unzip it anywhere (replacing your old copy), and run flim.exe. Requires FL Studio 2025 build 25.2.3.5171; 25.1.6.4997 also works and is now fully tested (plugin state, channel order, playlist clips and sample transfer included).
No server changes. Unofficial and experimental, not affiliated with Image-Line. Save often.
flim v.26.10.22
flim now also runs on FL Studio 25.1.6.4997, besides 25.2.3.5171.
Download flim-client-win64.zip, unzip it anywhere (replacing your old copy), and run flim.exe.
Requires FL Studio 2025 build 25.2.3.5171 (Help → About). 25.1.6.4997 works too: the automated feature test passes on it, but plugin state, reordering channels, playlist clips and sample transfer haven't been tested on it yet. Everyone in a session should use the same FL build. Other builds: see Other FL Studio builds in the README.
New since v.26.10.21
- FL 25.1.6.4997 support. flim now keeps a table of FL's internals per FL build and picks the right one when FL starts.
- Safer with unknown FL builds: flim tells you at startup and stays off, so FL runs as usual instead of risking a crash.
- For developers:
client/dev/has tools to map flim onto another FL build and to test it (see "Adding an FL build" in its README).
No server changes: the public test server flim.fly.dev works as before.
Unofficial and experimental, not affiliated with Image-Line. Save often.
flim v.26.10.21
Public test is open: try flim with a friend on the public test server flim.fly.dev, no server of your own needed. See ! PUBLIC TEST ! in the README.
Download flim-client-win64.zip, unzip it anywhere (replacing your old copy), and run flim.exe.
Requires FL Studio 2025 build 25.2.3.5171 exactly (Help → About). Everyone in a session needs this version: older clients can't connect anymore.
New since v.26.10.20
- Host button: click Host in FL's toolbar, pick a session password, and flim gives you a session link (e.g.
https://flim.fly.dev/03) plus the password to send to your friends. They click Connect and enter both. - Public test server
flim.fly.dev: 8 sessions at a time. For testing, sessions last 15 minutes (time left at the right end of flim's toolbar); you keep everything in your FL when time runs out, then wait a 5-minute cooldown. Idle sessions close after 5 minutes. - Separate sessions: each session has its own password, and nothing (edits, locks, projects, sample files) crosses between sessions.
- flim's toolbar now sits right next to FL's meters, so the status isn't cut off anymore.
Server
Running your own server? Update and redeploy it. A self-hosted server has one session and no time limits; set FLIM_PASSWORD so only people who know it can host (Ctrl+click Host to enter it).
Unofficial and experimental, not affiliated with Image-Line. Save often.
flim v.26.10.20
More of the project now stays in sync, and you can see where everyone is working.
Download flim-client-win64.zip, unzip it anywhere (replacing your old copy), and run flim.exe.
Requires FL Studio 2025 build 25.2.3.5171 exactly (Help → About). Everyone in a session should use the same flim version.
New since v0.4.3
- Synced: pattern and channel names, colors, mixer routing, pattern length, playlist markers, the project time signature, pattern time signatures and piano-roll markers, automation clips, and inserting, cloning and deleting patterns.
- Samples: samples that someone else doesn't have are sent to them automatically, including samples used inside plugins. Uploads over 50 MB ask first.
- Plugin locks: while someone has a plugin open, others can't edit it at the same time.
- Who's where: see which window each person is in, and a small arrow with their name where they're pointing in the piano roll or playlist.
- New icon, startup screen and toolbar badge. Versions are now dates (v.YY.MM.DD).
Server
If you run your own server, update and redeploy it (fly deploy); sample transfer needs the new server.
Unofficial and experimental, not affiliated with Image-Line. Save often.
flim v0.4.3
First public build of flim: real-time multiplayer for FL Studio 2025.
Download flim-client-win64.zip, unzip it anywhere, and run flim.exe. The first time, it asks for your FL Studio 2025 folder and a name. Then click Connect in FL's toolbar and enter your server's address and password.
Requires FL Studio 2025 build 25.2.3.5171 exactly (Help → About). Other builds will most likely crash.
You also need a flim server; one person runs it. See Quick start → Server.
