Choose a tag to compare

@fconidi fconidi released this 06 Nov 19:41
  • Added an option to keep a VLAN from becoming the default route.
  • Rejected interface names that are invalid or already used by another interface.
  • Rejected host addresses equal to the network address, gateways equal to the address or outside its subnet, and MTU values above the parent interface MTU.
  • Showed an error for out-of-range VLAN IDs instead of silently correcting them.
  • Kept VLANs whose parent interface is missing visible, so they can be edited or deleted.
  • Disabled Add when no managed interface is available and Add/Edit when the 8021q module is missing.
  • Translated interface states and the MTU placeholder.

VlanManager 0.1.1 is a graphical tool for creating and managing 802.1Q VLANs on wired interfaces through NetworkManager.

It provides IPv4 and IPv6 automatic or static settings, activation and deactivation, gateway reachability checks through the VLAN interface, and automatic restoration of unconfirmed changes. The interface is available in English and Italian.

This version validates that static addresses, gateways, and DNS servers match their IPv4 or IPv6 fields. The Debian package includes the illustrated installation and usage guide.

Install on an amd64 system from the SysLinuxOS-Tools APT repository with sudo apt install vlanmanager, or download vlanmanager_0.1.1_all.deb below and use sudo apt install ./vlanmanager_0.1.1_all.deb.

See the README for requirements, configuration steps, and operational limits.
