We’re excited to share the first official release of rboto, now available on PyPI!

rboto provides async-only Python clients for AWS services, powered by Rust, with built-in typing for inputs and outputs.

rboto is in alpha. The API may change as the project develops. We’ll aim to preserve compatibility where possible and document breaking changes.

Read the documentation for setup, client usage, and examples.

Install the services you need:

pip install "rboto[s3,dynamodb]==0.1.0"

Import clients directly:

from rboto import DynamoDBClient, S3Client

This release includes:

  • 34 service clients, including S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, Bedrock Runtime, EventBridge, Scheduler, and Pipes.
  • Typed outputs, service exceptions, async pagination, and streaming for supported operations.
  • Structured JSON logging and async interceptors.
  • Prebuilt wheels for Python 3.12–3.15 on Linux and macOS, including ARM64 and musl Linux.

We’re looking forward to seeing what you build with rboto. Try it with your workload and tell us what works, what breaks, and what’s missing.

rboto is an independent project maintained by Ferrumio. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon Web Services.
