Tether 0.1.0 preview 1
Tether connects native companion apps to services on an app-owned host, using paired identities and an explicit private/VPN or cloud route. This first public preview includes a shared Rust core, Swift and Kotlin clients, a .NET client/host SDK, and optional SwiftUI, Compose and WinUI controls.
Apple: add this repository as a Swift package at 0.1.0-preview.1; it downloads the checksummed TetherFFI.xcframework.zip. Standard UI supports macOS 15 and iOS 18; the optional fold adapter requires the iOS 27.1 SDK.
Android: the preview Maven archive contains Core/UI AARs, source JARs and dependency metadata for API 26+, arm64-v8a and x86_64. Dependencies remain separate from the AARs. See the Android integration guide before embedding.
Windows: use the x64 Core 0.1.0-frameworks.1 and WinUI 0.1.0-frameworks.2 NuGets together. Core targets .NET 8; WinUI requires .NET 10. The embedding app supplies signing and installation.
The supplied components are development SDKs. This release provides no managed public relay endpoint, codecs, application-specific authorization or signed end-user applications. Physical-device internet acceptance, broader accessibility checks and a professional cryptographic audit remain open. API compatibility is not promised before a stable release.
See build and install, native UI, validation limits and security policy. Verify downloaded assets against SHA256SUMS.
