Selecting Data type field in action bug

Current Behavior

There is an issue selecting specific fields in a datatype inside actions. After setting up the action, when selecting the specific field for the data type, it flashes for a split second then clears. For this example, it is inside a callback action for a component, but I have confirmed that the same behavior happens outside of the context for a callback action (just normal action on component)

Expected Behavior

Should be able to select the data type field

1. create a data type list
2. generate dynamic list using data type
3. set up an action to update a specific field inside the list
4. observe what happens

Hello!

In this case, the issue might be that the Set Value action is expecting the entire Children data type, rather than individual values within it. To resolve this, you'll need to either set the value for the Children object you're updating or create the DataType Object at the top level first.

@Alezanello thank you for the response - I ended up using a different approach, assembling the data type list in page state and then saving the whole thing (rather than updating one at a time).

However, I believe this is still a bug and that this was working before the update. As you can see, I am in a list where I have generated children from the data type array. That means in this action, I am in the context of single item of the array, I should be able to set individual fields of the data type from this point.

If I am not mistaking, the flow here should be to simply select the field of the data type and then select the value.

To support this, let me ask you these questions:

1. why would it give me the fields to select?
2. why would it flash the selection in a weird buggy way when i select them?
3. be an otherwise completely dead end that serves no purpose as the only possible choice I have from the drop down are the individual fields within the data type?

The issue with the fields not being highlighted in red and available for selection is a known problem that we are currently working on. A fix will be available soon! 😊
