A documentation release that aligns the guides and packaged skills with v20. The brain format (version: 8), bf.yaml, the reply schemas, the assistant queue and the search cache are unchanged. Upgrade with uv tool upgrade brain-framework (or update a brain's pin), run bf skills DIR for each skills folder, and compare a brain's AGENTS.md with a scratch bf init copy to adopt the starter's new first line.

Fixed

• Guides match v20. Checks describes the validate: policy shapes bf validate accepts: index_note names one index note, required_status lists statuses and forbid_patterns holds up to 64 regular expressions. {{lines:FILE}} arguments document their real bounds: a file of at most 4 MiB, lines of at most 16,384 characters and at most 128 command items in all. Pages no longer mention the removed bf schedule or queued trigger events, and the queue folder command follows a symlinked brain (stat -L).
• Upgrades and recovery. Install and update runs the steps that need the previous release, such as draining the assistant queue, before upgrading, and ends with bf status --check; its libyaml reinstall names 'brain-framework[mcp]' so MCP users keep the extra. Troubleshooting no longer sends unexpected assistant queue schema to the v19 steps.
• Packaged skills. bf-maintain follows the same upgrade order, installs the mcp extra when a host starts bf mcp, updates the watch service or timer you wrote instead of regenerating schedules and explains assistant queue predates this release. bf-use and the starter AGENTS.md that bf init writes search the brain before querying a source tool. bf-use, bf-action and bf-setup point agents to the Markdown documentation at llms.txt, and bf-setup warns that a CLAUDE.md in a parent folder also replaces AGENTS.md.
