v1.0.14
- New: automatically works around an FPP core bug (FalconChristmas/fpp#3021) where the PipeWire graph can leave the actual hardware sink unlinked - especially after a reboot - leaving audio completely silent even though everything else (relay, ffplay, volume) is working correctly. No more manual
pw-linkcommands needed; this is now detected and repaired automatically on every Start. Strictly additive to the PipeWire graph - never removes or rearranges anything, no-op on a healthy box.
v1.0.13
- Fix (#4, for real this time): the volume slider's live-apply silently did nothing for every real-world Start (Scheduler, Command, or the plugin's own Start button) - it only worked when playback happened to be started a specific way my own testing used but real usage never does. Confirmed and fixed against an actual real-world Start on real hardware.
Sorry for the churn on this one - v1.0.12 tested correctly against the wrong scenario.
v1.0.12
- New (#4): opt-in "Normalize loudness across stations" toggle, off by default. Evens out real volume differences between stations/streams (ffmpeg dynaudnorm). Takes effect on the next Start or station switch, not live - some CPU cost, so it's off unless you turn it on.
- Fix: the "unsaved changes" banner was incorrectly appearing when moving the volume slider, even though it now auto-saves (v1.0.10). The slider no longer trips that banner; other fields are unaffected.
v1.0.11
- Fix (#5): if your system was hit by the real-pulseaudio/pipewire-alsa conflict before this was fixed in v1.0.4-v1.0.6,
pipewire-alsawas likely still missing even after updating - PipeWire itself, fppd, and this plugin's own playback all kept working fine, so there was no obvious sign anything was wrong; only other ALSA-based apps on the box would silently lose PipeWire output. Updating to this version now automatically repairs that - no reinstall or manual fix needed.
v1.0.10
- Fix (#4): the volume slider now applies live to whatever's currently playing, instead of only taking effect on the next restart.
- Fix (#4): startup volume could silently stay at PulseAudio's default for a slow-to-connect stream (the old 5-second wait for the sink-input to register was too short and gave up quietly). The wait is now backgrounded with a much longer window, so it no longer races Start's own response time.
Thanks to @bobreese for the detailed report pinpointing both causes.
v1.0.9
- New: "Encore Radio - Play Station" FPP Command - schedule different named Internet Radio stations for different times (e.g. one station during the day, another at night) straight from FPP's own Scheduler. Station names are picked from a dropdown fed by your Saved Stations.
- Saved Stations on the plugin page now have their own name + URL add/edit row, with Play/Make Active/Edit/reorder/Remove per entry, instead of only being creatable by overwriting the active station fields.
- Fix: a Command rewriting the active station (Play Station, and the existing Internet Radio failover watchdog) could leave
encoreradio.jsonroot:root 0600, locking the web UI out of its own config (Save failing, the page falling back to defaults). Fixed.
Thanks to @pgianotto for this contribution.
v1.0.8
- Privacy disclosure: trimmed three fields that exceeded the install dialog's length caps (fixing a recheck finding). No behavior change - the detail moved into the "other" field, which has no cap.
v1.0.7
- Privacy disclosure: names exactly what crosses the license server during Spotify sign-in (the OAuth code and your device's own local callback address) instead of the vaguer "relays Spotify OAuth" - token exchange itself still happens entirely on your device.
v1.0.6
- Important fix: the FPP 10 Plugin Manager was still installing the real
pulseaudiopackage on its own, before this plugin's installer ever ran - meaning the pipewire-alsa conflict fix in v1.0.4/v1.0.5 never actually applied to a fresh install through the Plugin Manager. Fixed at the source (pluginInfo.json's own declared dependencies); update to get the real fix. - Network Share no longer mounts anything. It now reads the share through smbclient in small rolling batches instead of a kernel CIFS mount, so a dead/unreachable NAS can no longer hang FPP's file manager, backup, or crash bundler - only this plugin's own next fetch. Still supports a library far larger than local storage.
- The system-wide PulseAudio/PipeWire setup this plugin creates is now accurately disclosed for both the legacy and PipeWire paths, and uninstall no longer risks touching a system.pa file this plugin never created.
v1.0.5
- Fix: this plugin and Announcement Assistant share one PulseAudio/PipeWire bridge socket, and each used to unconditionally rebuild it on every install/update - whichever plugin's install ran last would tear the socket out from under the other, orphaning its still-running process. Both plugins now check that an existing bridge is actually alive (not just that its socket file exists) before deciding to reuse vs rebuild it. Verified on real hardware with both plugins installed.
