Footfall 0.2.0 extends trace investigation from frames to application work: edits, transactions, passes, messages, causal flows, and resource lifetimes.
- Inspect connected work through typed queries and structured CLI JSON, with stable identities, scope ancestry, and marker interval activity.
- Compare named counter checkpoints and account for resource creation, release, resizing, peaks, and survivors across explicit intervals. Results retain uncertainty about missing history and do not infer ownership from creating work.
- Record and analyze frame opportunities, scheduler plans, intentional holds, synchronous frames, buffer waits, cadence, miss severity, and lasting latency changes.
- Export native Perfetto protobuf traces with nanosecond timestamps, frame tracks, flows, and frame timeline judgments; Chrome Trace JSON remains available. Tracy gains live frame pacing observations.
- Preserve recording-history evidence across runtime and process-gate changes. Complete streamed captures distinguish runtime eviction from capture loss, and scopes admitted before a level reduction still close correctly.

All 12 public crates share version 0.2.0. The session protocol is 1.1: 0.1 captures using protocol 1.0 remain readable; readers must be upgraded to consume new protocol 1.1 captures. Minimum supported Rust: 1.88.0.
