ftb-node v0.16
Fixes the mirror so it actually stays up. 0.1.0 had a startup race where the node could lose its own IPFS repo lock right after launch, fall back to offline, and never pin the site. 0.1.1 waits for the daemon's API before probing, so it comes up clean and mirrors reliably. Update with the one-liner below.
The one-install Free the Bird mirror. A single zero-dependency binary that fetches and supervises Kubo (IPFS), pins FTB's front end by its stable IPNS name, auto-follows every release, and serves your own copy of FTB locally. It holds no keys and signs nothing.
Install (Linux / macOS):
curl -fsSL https://freethebird.co/node/install.sh | sh
Or grab your binary below and run it (no arguments needed):
| system | file |
|---|---|
| macOS (Intel) | ftb-node_darwin_amd64 |
| macOS (Apple silicon) | ftb-node_darwin_arm64 |
| Linux (x86-64) | ftb-node_linux_amd64 |
| Linux (arm64) | ftb-node_linux_arm64 |
| Windows (x86-64) | ftb-node_windows_amd64.exe |
| Windows (arm64) | ftb-node_windows_arm64.exe |
Verify before you run. Checksums are in SHA256SUMS; the curl installer checks them for you automatically.
No token reward, ever. You run it so the app cannot be switched off, censored, or lost. Full guide at freethebird.co/node. MIT.
