Stoic Importer 0.1.0 Preview 2 — English by default
Updated default language
New installations now start in English. Existing saved language selections are preserved.
Public preview of Stoic Importer, an independent local macOS app for moving Stoic backups to Apple Journal.
Download StoicImporter-0.1.0-preview.2-macos-arm64.zip and StoicMacWriterV3.shortcut. SHA-256 checksums are in SHA256SUMS.txt.
- Apple silicon only. Archive browsing targets macOS 14+; importing requires Apple Journal and a compatible Shortcuts action (macOS 26+). Development verification used macOS 27.
- Ad-hoc signed; no Developer ID or Apple notarization. After a blocked first launch, trusted users can use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Apple instructions.
- Install the shortcut as StoicMacWriterV3. Some Macs reject its Journal action as unsupported. This is separate from Gatekeeper; installation on other users’ devices is unverified. An iPhone/iCloud sync route has been used in development, but is not guaranteed.
- Start with one reviewed entry, check its actual date and photos in Journal, then use the queue. Existing/manual imports are not detected; interrupted transfers need review before retrying.
- Bulk import with photos was reported working by the maintainer. Location transfer is not enabled.
This update passed release-build and code-signature verification. The preceding preview passed 57 Swift tests and 79 Python tests, including the clean-source Python suite. The shared shortcut’s actions exactly match the published V3 source. This is an early preview, not broad device certification.
