Superseded by client-v18, which fixes the pin an install could be stuck on: on this release the harness pin in your runner.json outranks the bundle's, so a config written before 2026-09-03 refuses Install Forge no matter how many times you update. v18 makes the bundle's pin the one in force. Everything below remains true for this release.

One-zip Windows volunteer client for the MTG sim farm. Unzip, double-click run-client.bat, enter the farm URL and your runner credential on the first-run page, click Add, pick your work, and go.

New in v17: it knows the current engine. The farm accepted 2.0.14+139b268b780 on 2026-09-07 -- the index-stable-pairing build, where a deck's library follows its deck file, so a champion and its one-card variant now differ at exactly one library position instead of being reshuffled into unrelated orders. v16 has no row for that engine, so on v16 the Install Forge button refuses it by name and the farm hands you no work at all. Update, press Install Forge, and you are back on the gauntlet.

Already on v12 or later? Your client shows a banner with an Update button; stop the workers and press it.

From v16: workers are yours to keep -- add/remove split from start/stop, and rows and their game counts survive a restart. From v15: the column order. From v14: the relaunched console closes with the client. From v13: the for column counts the whole wait. From v12: the client updates itself. From v8: Backfill chosen decks, a work mode with a deck picker and a scope.

Headless: farmrunner.py --mode backfill --decks REF[,REF...] [--scope within], a ref being a deck's label, its hash, or a unique hash prefix. webui.py --config runner.json --sync-engine installs whatever engine the farm advertises without opening the page.

Ships Windows embeddable Python 3.12.10 and the client with its harness pin baked in; the Forge engine (~205 MB) is downloaded on demand. Knows three fork engines (2.0.14+77f7277a301, 2.0.14+71c2d284cee, 2.0.14+139b268b780) alongside upstream 2.0.14. Requires a farm advertising active_engine (post-de63260); choosing decks needs a farm listing deck_filter in its hello.
