Bluetooth

General information

Your Aquarius+ has built-in Bluetooth 4 support, also known as Bluetooth LE. Devices using older Bluetooth technology (eg. version 3) are not able to connect to the Aquarius+. Keep this in mind when selecting peripherals for your Aquarius+. For instance, many Bluetooth keyboards only support version 3 and as such are not compatible with the Aquarius+.

At this moment the Aquarius+ can only connect to Xbox controllers, but in a future update, support for other peripherals will be implemented.

Using an Xbox Series S/X controller with the Aquarius+

Your Aquarius+ has built-in Bluetooth support, which enables it to connect to a Xbox controller. The Xbox controller can only be used wirelessly and will act as if connected to Aquarius+ Control Pad Port 1.

The left analog stick (and D-pad) will function as the disc on the original controller. The A/B/X/Y/LB/RB buttons will function as the 6 buttons on the original controller.

The first time you want to use the controller, you have to pair it:

  • Turn on the Aquarius+.
  • Turn on the Xbox controller by pressing the round Xbox button.
  • Press the little pair button on the back of the controller until the Xbox button starts flashing rapidly.
  • Within a few seconds the Xbox button will stop flashing indicating the controller is paired and is ready to be used.

To turn off the Xbox controller, press and hold the Xbox button for about 6 seconds.

Next time you want to use the controller you don't have to pair it again. It will automatically connect to your Aquarius+ when turned on.

If you've used your Xbox controller with another system, you will need to use the pairing function again.

Using an Xbox One controller

Only Xbox Series S/X controllers support Bluetooth LE out of the box. The older Xbox One controllers only support Bluetooth LE after updating its firmware.

To update your firmware, please follow the guide on: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/controller/update-xbox-wireless-controller

After updating your controller, the controller should be able to pair in the same way as an Xbox Series S/X controller.
