HomeGenie v2.0.31

This release fixes a false installation error that could appear during a system update, particularly on slower devices such as Raspberry Pi.

Update reliability

  • Keep waiting when the service temporarily disconnects or its update API is still initializing after restart.
  • Verify the installed release, restarted process and boot progress before reporting success.
  • Restore boot progress monitoring even when WebSocket events are missed.
  • Distinguish an unconfirmed restart timeout from a confirmed installation failure.
  • Allow retrying the status check without repeating the installation.
  • Show backend error details when installation fails.

Upgrade note

When updating from an earlier release, the old interface may still display “Update installation failed” during restart, even if installation succeeded. Allow the service to finish starting, then reload Maintenance and check the installed version before retrying.

Validation

Verified with 25 frontend regression tests, additional disconnection and startup checks, and TypeScript and Angular template checks.
