Changes since 0.3:
- The OpenASPI drivers come with it, each one an option, loaded after
EUSBASPI.SYS:
| Option | |
|---|---|
| Sticks, card readers, disks (on) | ASPIDSK.SYS |
| CD/DVD drives (on) | ASPICDA.SYS, SHSUCDX |
| ZIP, LS-120, LS-240, Clik!, Jaz | ASPIFDD.SYS |
| Tape drives | ASPITAP.SYS, TAPECTL.COM |
With EUSBASPI already loaded, ASPISCAN.COM finds the devices and preselects the options. No Adaptec drivers are needed any more.
- SHSUCDX with digital CD audio (geosone/shsucd 4.00-g1,
CDAUDIO.COM): SHSUCDX of the package always wins over MSCDEX (MS-DOS) and NWCDEX (DR-DOS). An existing MSCDEX/NWCDEX line starts SHSUCDX instead, keeps its CD-ROM drivers and drive letters and gets/D:ASPICDA0;INSTALL /Uputs MSCDEX or NWCDEX back. Needs the GeosOne Dual Installer 1.14.0 (included). - OpenASPI and SHSUCD have installers of their own; all share
C:\OPENASPI, each can be installed alone or together. - From 0.3: remove 0.3 first (
INSTALL /UinC:\OPENASPI\EUSBASPI): it loaded Adaptec's ASPIDISK.SYS and ASPICD.SYS, which use the same drives.
Tested in QEMU with MS-DOS 7.1 (an IDE CD with MSCDEX before; after setup a USB CD (ASPICDA) and a USB stick (ASPIDSK) on EHCI, both CDs through SHSUCDX; INSTALL /U restores CONFIG.SYS and the MSCDEX line) - not yet on real hardware, please test with care (backup!) and report. The OpenASPI drivers are version 0.1 (OpenAspi 354a558).
