NudgeThis v0.7.0-alpha.1

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 19 Sep 23:07

NudgeThis 0.7.0-alpha.1 adds a visual Tools & elements palette for preparing changes without
writing CSS or knowing component names.

  • Tools prepares requests for colors, sizing, spacing, corner radius, matching sizes and
replacement text. Existing request text is preserved, including grouped selections.
  • Elements shows six component examples. Choose a reference element and request a button,
text block, image, card, form field or section before, after or inside it.
  • Favorite tools and components appear first. Dock the palette on either side, collapse it,
or use its My Style and review shortcuts. Browser-local preferences contain no project data.
  • Compact selection icons, keyboard tab navigation, touch support and appearance tokens keep
the workbench usable across viewport sizes and custom themes.
  • The website includes terminal installers and 21 public documentation pages, including
Windows/WSL setup and the new palette guide. Installers verify archive checksums and retain
    previous versions for rollback.

Preparing a request does not modify the page or run anything. Review the editable request,
save a draft or explicitly start a conversation, then review proposed code before applying.
Component samples illustrate intent; actual changes use your configured coding agent and
the project's own framework and conventions. This is not a drag-and-drop source editor.

Application checks cover selection isolation, draft preservation, stale targets, insertion
context, grouped requests, favorites, blocked browser storage, keyboard navigation and
Chromium mobile emulation. All run with execution disabled, without agents or models.

Archives include the native application, portable launcher, embedded frontend, license,
build metadata and installation guide. Verify downloads against SHA256SUMS.txt.
This remains an unsigned, unnotarized alpha with no automatic updater. The welcome starts
agents disabled; configuring a coding agent still requires local setup. Worktrees are not
OS sandboxes. Chromium emulation is not physical-device or Safari coverage.

NudgeThis v0.6.0-alpha.1

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 19 Sep 21:25

NudgeThis 0.6.0-alpha.1 adds multiple-element selection and area selection for shared visual changes.

  • Select multiple adds or removes controls with clicks or taps. A configurable extra
modifier works with existing mouse and keyboard shortcuts.
  • Select area adds visible elements inside a dragged rectangle, including touch input.
Nested control contents and ancestor containers are collapsed to avoid redundant targets.
  • Review selection shows numbered targets and lets you remove any before describing
one change for the group. Add more elements preserves the request while you keep picking.
  • Groups stay attached to drafts, conversations and historical revisions. Review, My Style
and Copy context include the group. Changed or ambiguous targets require reselection or removal.
  • Existing single-element integrations and saved selection preferences remain supported.
  • The website adds a branded social preview image and simplified page title.

Groups are limited to 20 unique elements from one page and 48 KiB of minimized context.
Area discovery inspects up to 5,000 elements in the visible viewport; it does not enter
iframe contents or shadow roots. An oversized selection is rejected rather than silently
reduced. Source hints remain unverified and private-content capture rules still apply.

Application checks cover API validation, persistence and historical group context,
clipboard minimization, gesture isolation, stale targets, desktop selection and Chromium
touch emulation. These checks run with execution disabled, without agents or models.

Archives include the native application, portable launcher, embedded frontend, license,
build metadata and installation guide. Verify downloads against SHA256SUMS.txt.
This remains an unsigned, unnotarized alpha with no automatic updater. The welcome starts
agents disabled; configuring a real coding agent still requires local setup and a terminal.
Worktrees are not OS sandboxes. Browser emulation is not physical-device or Safari coverage.

NudgeThis v0.5.0-alpha.1

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 19 Sep 20:27

NudgeThis 0.5.0-alpha.1 adds a local welcome, project starters and a portable launcher,
and brings guided branches, saved versions and GitHub publishing into the downloads.

  • Open the welcome with Open NudgeThis.exe, NudgeThis.app, the Linux launcher,
or nudgethis welcome. Running the CLI without a subcommand also opens it.
  • Start from an idea, choose a maintained starter or open an existing local folder.
Local rules recommend a starting stack and save the goal in Project context.
  • Review a new folder and file list before creation. HTML/CSS previews without extra
tools; Astro and React + TypeScript use explicitly reviewed npm operations.
  • Start, stop and restart owned previews. Preview credentials stay out of source files
and production builds. Removing a library entry preserves its project files.
  • Initialize local version history, review a first commit, choose a working branch,
save reviewed changes, publish exact commits and propose changes on GitHub.
Merge availability follows the repository's checks and review requirements.
  • Keep visual selection, conversations, context, route/device review, appearance,
My Style, guarded Apply/Undo and history from earlier releases.

The welcome starts agents disabled. Setting up and enabling a real coding agent still
requires local installation, authentication, configuration and a terminal launch.
Managed preview supports the maintained static starter and npm Astro/Vite projects;
other development servers can be started separately. Accounts, payments and shared storage
are not preimplemented by the starter diagnosis. GitHub repository creation is not automatic.

Application validation covers TypeScript, Rust formatting/Clippy, native/API persistence,
Git operations, welcome and preview lifecycle, Chromium desktop/mobile flows and all three
landing profiles. The React and Astro starters are installed, built for production and
previewed using their actual frameworks. No agent, model, provider fixture or demo agent
is run by these checks. Native packages run application checks on all four build targets.

Archives contain the native application, launcher (a bundle on macOS), embedded frontend,
build metadata, license and installation guide. Verify against SHA256SUMS.txt.
Downloads remain unsigned, not notarized and experimental. There is no automatic updater
or signed installer. Worktrees are not OS sandboxes and device emulation is not a physical
phone or Safari. Real-provider behavior is outside this release's validation.

NudgeThis v0.4.0-alpha.1

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 19 Sep 16:28

NudgeThis 0.4.0-alpha.1 unifies the product name across the complete application and adds
the selection controls and My Style features to the downloadable preview.

  • Run nudgethis / nudgethis.exe, configure nudgethis.toml, and keep private local state
in .nudgethis/. Browser integrations import NudgeThis and call NudgeThis.init().
  • Choose mouse buttons/modifiers or a keyboard shortcut, or pick an element with a click/tap.
  • Build a personal style through branching visual choices, scoped rules and live component
previews. Export/import portable profiles and prepare element/page/project requests.
  • Review suggestions from repeated supported CSS corrections in applied changes. Each rule
requires explicit acceptance and a scope. No model training or chat interpretation is involved.
  • Retain desktop/mobile route review, Chromium device emulation, project context, drafts,
isolated worktrees, reviewed Apply, guarded Undo and versioned conversations.

This release changes the public technical names. Retired aliases are removed. It does not
automatically import task/worktree state from differently named older storage directories.
Stop the previous service, keep a private backup and follow the
0.4 update guide.

Validation is restricted to application code: native/API persistence, Git safety, context
and style rules, Rust formatting/Clippy, TypeScript, and Chromium browser flows. Native
archives are built and checked on Linux x64, Windows x64, Apple Silicon and Intel Mac.
No agent, model, provider fixture or demo is run by the release checks.

Archives contain the NudgeThis executable with embedded frontend assets, build metadata,
license and installation instructions. Verify them against SHA256SUMS.txt. Builds remain
unsigned, not notarized and experimental. Worktrees are not OS sandboxes, device emulation
does not reproduce physical hardware/Safari, and these checks do not certify real providers.

My Style, and
the roadmap.
