@getnsh getnsh released this 05 Oct 21:44

The first Windows build that does the job. Everything below runs on the PC;
nothing you say leaves it.

What it does

  • Dictation. Hold Right Ctrl, speak, let go. The words are typed where the
    cursor is, with your dictionary and cleanup applied. A small pill shows the
    words as they come.
  • Meetings. Start one from the window, the tray or Ctrl+Shift+M, or let it
    notice a Teams, Zoom, Slack, Discord, Webex or browser call. You and the PC
    are heard as two voices, in a panel that collapses to a mark. New: each
    voice has a pause button, so a side conversation or a video stays out of the
    record.
  • Summaries. Meetings can be written up by Qwen3 4B on the CPU, about five
    minutes for an hour. It asks before downloading its 2.9 GB, and offers to
    hand the meeting to ChatGPT or Claude instead.
  • Recordings. Import an audio or video file and get timestamped lines.
  • The library. Transcripts with search, playback and export; a dictionary
    of words, corrections and people that learns names by asking.

First launch

huh? downloads its speech model once, 670 MB from a pinned Hugging Face
revision, checked against a SHA-256 built into the app. New: the window
now says so, with the real sizes, until the model is in, and a download that
stops can carry on from where it got to.

Which file

  • huh-setup_0.2.0_x64.exe (12 MB): the setup. Use this one. It installs
    for you alone, updates over 0.1.x, and is also the uninstaller.
  • Huh_0.2.0_x64-setup.exe (9 MB): the plain installer, if the setup above
    gives you trouble.
  • huh.exe (40 MB): the bare binary.

All three are unsigned, so SmartScreen will say "Windows protected your PC".
More info, then Run anyway. Check the file first:

certutil -hashfile huh-setup_0.2.0_x64.exe SHA256

and compare it against SHASUMS.txt on this release.

Needs 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. WebView2 is already on Windows 11.
