Description
Update
July 29, 2021
This feature is now available to organizations on Business plans in the Early Adopter program.
See our docs to get started with importing your GitHub or GitLab CODEOWNERS.
We'd love your feedback as we continue to build, so let us know on this issue or send us an email at ecosystem-feedback@sentry.io.
Summary
We've been working on a new feature that we'd love for you to try.
We're making it easier than ever to get ownership rules into Sentry by supporting the import and sync of GitHub and GitLab CODEOWNERS files.
Motivation
Sentry is better when issues are owned:
- Teams and individuals see what's relevant to them. This reduces noise and ensures issues aren't falling through the cracks
- Alerts can automatically be routed to the right people with no manual configuration
- Issues can automatically be assigned to the right team
Today, we have Issue Ownership Rules that let you define which user or team should own an issue. But if you already have GitHub or GitLab CODEOWNERS files, this requires you to maintain two lists of ownership rules. We want to provide a seamless way to get your existing rules into Sentry and keep them in sync.
