New: the suppression rules are configurable in the Control Panel
This package has no Control Panel surface of its own and is not meant to have one. But its
config says of the threshold, in so many words, that the value sits there because it is meant to
be adjusted as soon as there is something to adjust — and until now that took a deploy. Under
Settings → Addon Settings there is now a section for it, with four groups:
- [new] Soft bounces: how many within which window block an address. A lower threshold blocks
earlier and catches more mailboxes that were merely full; a longer window collects more
bounces and therefore also blocks earlier, even when the threshold stays the same. - [new] Release: the minimum length of the reason somebody has to give when deliberately lifting a
block. The point of the field is that it still means something a year later; one word is a
checkbox in the clothing of a text field. 0 means no minimum length. - [new] Scope per reason: for each of the six reasons separately, whether it blocks the address
everywhere or only for the brand that entered it. Reversible without a migration, because the
brand is on every row; a change applies to new entries, rows already written keep their scope.
Six separate select fields rather than one mapping field, because the reasons live in the code
and the operator invents none here. The scope itself is a choice between two values and not
free text: a third value would make the check throw an exception on the next block attempt,
that is, in the middle of a send rather than in the form. - [new] Insights: whether the figures are offered to the reporting addon.
Only the deviation is stored, everything else still follows config/suppression.php.
Four of these values read their starting value from an environment variable, and that stays so:
the variable sets the starting value, a value stored here beats it, and "back to default" leads
to the variable again.
Nothing is missing from the page. This package has no key that is read at boot: it registers
no routes and no navigation, and the Insights switch is not asked until a tile is drawn.
New permission manage suppression settings. Nobody holds it at first, and until it is
assigned to a role the section stays invisible. Existing permissions are unchanged.
Requires goldnead/statamic-brand-context 1.13 or later. Older versions carry the page but
do not apply its values reliably: on an installation with a single brand the settings of the
addons registered last did not reach the config at all, and up to 1.12 a second save of the same
section deleted the first save's override without a message. If you set values before this
update, check afterwards whether they are still there.
