Release list
v2.1.3
- One look for firmware updates: an update by the clock itself over WiFi now takes the whole screen in the same forms as the update from the phone over Bluetooth (a question, the progress with a big ring and percent, the result with a check mark or an error and "Try again"), instead of a small dialog
- When the clock cannot install a newer release over WiFi because the release has no build for its firmware (a custom build, clock firmware v2.1.2+), the app says so and points to the update over Bluetooth instead of "The clock found no newer version"

v2.1.2
- A clock opens with its settings in place: the loading spinner stays until they are read from the clock, instead of the controls showing their defaults and then moving to the clock's values
- Leaving a clock unsubscribes from its notifications before disconnecting, so the clock drops the link at once and shows up in the list again (Android kept the link to a paired clock open)

v2.1.1
- The dialog of a firmware update over WiFi says how it ended in its title: "Firmware updated" or "Update failed" instead of the title of the button that started it
- The clock's time shows dashes until it is read from the clock, instead of a placeholder date with a year of +1000000000

v2.1.0
- Only your phones control the clock (clock firmware v2.1.0+): the clock lets in only phones paired with it ("Just Works", no PIN; up to 5 phones), and a new phone can pair only within 2 minutes after the clock is powered on or after a 5-second touch of its touch pad. The app pairs on connecting; when the clock refuses, it says how to open pairing on the clock and can forget a stale pairing. Clocks with older firmware connect as before
- Connection screen: until the clock is connected, its screen shows the connection under way (connecting, pairing, loading) or why there is none, with a retry, instead of the clock's cards with empty values
- Live clock list: a clock switched on shows up in the list while it is open, and one not heard for 15 seconds (switched off, out of range) leaves it; the list keeps its order as clocks come and go
- Fixed opening a clock right after leaving another one connecting the old clock again under the new clock's screen
- Fixed pairing with a clock that refuses the phone: Android's pairing prompt no longer drops the connection, the refusal stays on screen instead of an endless reconnect, and the clock's cards appear only once the phone is paired
- The settings screen no longer slides under the header
- New look: the top bar takes the theme's colors instead of black and shows the open clock's name; the big name card is gone. The Settings tab is ordered Firmware, time accuracy, Bluetooth (the clock's MAC address and its name), WiFi, Matrix (resolution, pixel color order) and System (module, CPU, flash, timer chip and its temperature), each parameter its name above its value
- Fits an enlarged system font (checked at 1.25x): smaller title sizes from the theme, time cards of equal height, units kept on the line of their number

v2.0.0
- New layout: the clock screen has two tabs at the bottom. Clock keeps the everyday controls (power, brightness, on/off scenarios, Animation Splash); Settings has the time, WiFi, firmware and system cards. The cards look as before
- WiFi for the clock (clock firmware v2.0.0+): turn it on, pick the network from the list of networks the clock itself hears (only 2.4 GHz ones, with their signal at the clock) or type a hidden one, and set how often the clock connects (every 1..24 hours). The clock then syncs its time from the internet and checks for firmware updates by itself; the card shows the connection status and when the time was last received, and can sync it right now. The password is never read back from the clock, and it is sent over an encrypted link only: on the first save Android asks to confirm pairing with the clock
- Time zone: the app gives the clock the phone's time zone on every connection (shown in the time card), so the time from the internet is local, daylight saving time included
- Firmware update, two ways: the phone checks for a newer release as soon as it knows the clock's version (a badge marks the Settings tab when there is one) and offers to install it either by the clock itself over WiFi — a dialog follows the download, the restart and the new version, and tells if the clock rolled back to the old one — or from the phone over Bluetooth, as before. Clocks with older firmware keep the Bluetooth update only
- Clock name: rename the clock from the Settings tab (up to 20 bytes, clock firmware v2.0.0+); it advertises the new name, also in the phone's pairing dialog. An empty name restores the default "Tetris Clock XXXX", XXXX coming from the clock's Bluetooth address so that several clocks can be told apart
- Beta versions: a switch in the firmware card (clock firmware newer than v2.0.0) puts the clock on the beta channel, kept in the clock: both the clock's own check and the phone's one then offer betas (vX.Y.Z-betaN) too, whichever version is higher. Versions are compared by number, so an older release is never offered as an update. A clock with older firmware (no channel of its own) follows the app's beta switch in the settings, so it can be moved onto a v2 beta over Bluetooth
- App settings: a gear at the top right of the home screen (with a dot when an app update is out) opens the app's own settings, kept on the phone: the app version with a "Check for updates" button and a link to the new version, an app beta versions switch (then the highest version among releases and betas is offered) and the language. The header now reads just "Tetris Clock"; the home screen keeps only a "New version available" line when there is one
- Saving the WiFi settings survives the pairing it triggers: the write is retried after Android pairs and re-reads the clock, with a spinner meanwhile
- Under the hood: Hilt runs on KSP instead of kapt and Kotlin is AGP 9's built-in one (the build needs much less memory); the new characteristics have a tested codec (
protocol/); the APK is now namedtetris-clock-vX.Y.Z-<build type>.apk
