Deprecation of gapi.auth.authorize

I'm getting deprecation messages when using this API.

Your client application uses libraries for user authentication or authorization that will soon be deprecated. See the Migration Guide for more information.

It' still used in samples and the documentation does not list it as deprecated and does not provide any migration path.

What is the migration path for gapi.auth.authorize?
