Implement JSON type

For right now, we can only handle JSONString type, is there any chance that we would have the proper JSON type like https://github.com/taion/graphql-type-json?

Sth like this for example:

As the implementation is completely abstract from the json serialization/unserialization I renamed the JSON type to GenericScalar.

You can use it by:

from random import random

import graphene
from graphene.types.generic import GenericScalar


class Query(graphene.ObjectType):
    generic = GenericScalar()

    def resolve_generic(self, args, context, info):
        if random() > 0.5:
            return 5.0 # We return a float
        return False # We return a boolean

Hey @syrusakbary, not meaning to post in this old thread... but should GenericScalar still work? Was it replaced?

In the changelog I can only see when it was added, but nothing else. And when importing with from graphene.types.generic import GenericScalar I get that it doesn't exist.

I was using name = graphene.GenericScalar() instead of name = GenericScalar()

nvm: found it, for some reason i cant do graphene.GenericScalar

but i found it under types.generic

Is it not possible that if the resolver returns dict it's automatically taken as JSON?
I'm using easy_thumbnails and am returning urls of different sizes of images from resolver, when I return the dict it's converted to string. I already have the attribute named as image, would have liked if I didn't have to write a new attribute for the model wherever needed.

EDIT: ok I found that I can write the same attribute again as GenericScalar but will have to do it everywhere images are used.
