Introduces support for FLIR mid-wave infrared (MWIR) cameras using the ATS file format, specifically validated against the FLIR A8581 (InSb, 3–5 µm).
New functions and functionality include:
• fliratsvalues() for extracting NicevilleFactoryCal (NFC) calibration constants and object parameters from ATS and ATS-JPG (R-JPG) files
• Counts2Temp() and Counts2TempCalc() implementing a separate 3-constant Planck-on-radiance conversion pipeline appropriate for MWIR sensors
• ImportConvertFLIRATS() for importing and optionally converting multi-frame ATS video files to temperature stacks with FrameCounter-derived relative timestamps
• ConvertImportFLIRATSJPG() for importing single-frame ATS-JPG radiometric images
• IsFLIRfile() with automatic MWIR/LWIR camera-type detection
• Supporting Perl scripts (ats-xml.pl, ats-split.pl, ats-repair.pl) for metadata extraction, video splitting, and pixel-data recovery from ATS and ATS-JPG files including Research Studio exports with colour bars.
• v4.0 also fixes a longstanding error in the atmospheric transmittance formula used by both Raw2Temp() (LWIR): the distance term was incorrectly computed as sqrt(OD/2) rather than sqrt(OD), and a phantom second atmospheric path (tau2 = tau1) was erroneously included where tau2 = 1 is physically correct - both errors were validated against FLIR Research Studio's own internal calculations across multiple object distances, humidity values, and IR window transmittances, and their correction meaningfully improves accuracy for object distances above approximately 10 m or when IR windows are in use.
