• New on-screen buttons: ← (top left) goes back to the title screen during a game, like Esc, and leaves the game from the title screen; ✕ (top right) closes the game.
• Installs as an update over 2.1.0.

NibbyNibble-2.1.1.apk: download it on the phone and open it (allow installing apps from this source when asked). Android 7.0 or later.

The Windows build is unchanged: use NibbyNibble-2.1.0-windows-x64.zip from release 2.1.0.

Android version of Nibby Nibble (Amiga, 1993, Gabriele Roncolato) — same game code as the desktop native version, with a touch/gamepad front end. Amiga heritage preservation, educational purpose.

• Full screen landscape, pixel-exact scaling, original music and sound effects.
• Direction pad on the left, FIRE on the right. Back = Esc (back to the title); from the title screen it leaves the game.
• Gamepads (d-pad, A/B/X/Y, Start) and physical keyboards work too.

Windows

NibbyNibble-2.1.0-windows-x64.zip: unzip, then run NibbyNibble.exe (Java runtime included). Same game as 2.0.0: its shared code no longer depends on AWT, with byte-identical output.

Nibby Nibble Java 2.0.0 — native version

Native Java version of the Amiga game Nibby Nibble (1993, Gabriele Roncolato) — Amiga heritage preservation, educational purpose.

This version no longer emulates anything (no 68000, copper, blitter or Amiga memory): the graphics, levels and music were extracted from the original data file, and the game was rewritten in plain Java from the analysis of the original 68000 code. It was checked against the emulated port to produce pixel-identical frames and the same audio.

The emulated port (v1.0.x) is still available in the emu/ folder of the repository.

Windows (ready to play)

NibbyNibble-2.0.0-windows-x64.zip: unzip, then run NibbyNibble.exe. The Java runtime and the game assets are included: nothing to install.

Other systems

JDK 21: gradle run, or gradle jar then java -jar build/libs/nibbynibble.jar.

Correctif

• Collision : un demi-tour vertical serré (haut → droite → bas) faisait exploser la chenille alors que l'original continue. Le sprite de la tête était affiché un pixel trop à gauche par rapport au corps dessiné par le blitter (origine des sprites $81 au lieu de $80). Les vraies morsures sont toujours détectées.
