Netflix IMDb Ratings

A Chrome extension that displays IMDb ratings on Netflix movie and show cards.

Setup

  1. Get a free API key from OMDb API: http://www.omdbapi.com/
  2. Replace YOUR_API_KEY in netflix_ratings.js with your API key
  3. Load the extension in Chrome:
    • Go to chrome://extensions/
    • Enable "Developer mode"
    • Click "Load unpacked"
    • Select this folder

Features

  • Shows IMDb ratings on Netflix title cards
  • Caches ratings in localStorage (24 hours)
  • Automatically detects new content when scrolling or navigating

Notes

Ratings get stored in localStorage, because the free OMDb API has a limit of 1000 queries a day and loading from local takes up less time than waiting on new API fetches.
