CTRNativePorted v0.9.2
Pre-release
Pre-release
Patches and mods made for the other region now work on your game, and a patch written for another version no longer crashes it.
- Patches and mods for the other region: a patch file or mod made for the US game (CUSA13795) is moved onto the EU game (CUSA14876) at start, and an EU one onto the US game, for the same version (01.21 or 01.00). GoldHEN patches, which give only an address and a value, are now included. The two games are built from the same code with some functions shifted by 16 to 64 bytes: a map made from both games proves where each function and each piece of data is in the other (139,612 of 139,653 functions in 01.21), and the patch moves with it, calls and references included. A line that cannot be placed with certainty refuses the whole patch, with the reason in the log. In the launcher these patches show "Made for the other region: adapted at start".
- Lines written for another version are refused: such a line usually lands in the middle of an instruction and makes the game crash later. The patch is now stopped before anything is written: the launcher shows which patch and why, and a mod is skipped.
- Checked on the 01.21 games: the US "60 FPS Unlock" line lands on the EU line of the same patch and gives 60 FPS on the EU game; an EU patch that still had one US address is refused; the "Reserves + CNK Drift Gauge" mod moved this way reaches the same functions as with its original bytes. Not tried: patches for 01.00 in a game.
How to update: with Check updates. From 0.6.1 or earlier, v0.6.2 is installed first. Saves, settings and mods stay unchanged; the package contains no game files.
