Due to the fact that some nodes failed to update to the latest version of the Istanbul upgrade in a timely manner, the network frequently experienced forks. Transactions with advanced capabilities such as defi could not be confirmed on the blockchain, and the computing power of other nodes was wasted.

Version 1.2.3 does not add or change any functions. It only alters the magic number for P2P handshake, thereby forcing all nodes across the network to update to the latest full node version.

Note 1: If you were previously running a version higher than v1.2.0, this update does not require re-synchronizing data or updating the mining worker. You only need to run the new full node version again, and it will be compatible with all historical blocks.

Note 2: During the update period, explorer.hacash.org will temporarily not be able to see the progress of block mining. However, until the first mining pool node that has updated to v1.2.3 has pushed all its new blocks to the entire network, the browser of org will be able to synchronously display all the blocks mined during the upgrade period.

Note 3: If after updating to v1.2.3, you find that the local blocks you have are inconsistent with the blocks being developed on the org, it is likely that you are on an invalid fork. In this case, please delete the local blocks and re-synchronize all the blocks.

This is a long-term stable version since the upgrade of Istanbul. The capabilities such as HVM virtual machine have basically been solidified. Unless major bugs are found, there will be no further full-node version updates in the short term.

Subsequent development will shift to parts outside the full-node, such as block browsers and defi basic tools.
