Leaving the Project

Issues

  • The PM will look at any issues you are assigned to and talk to you about any questions they have on those issues. If you need to communicate where you left off, what still needs to be done, or any other information that would make it possible for someone else to work on the issue, please put it in a comment on the issue. Ideally, when your PM or lead looks at the issue, they should have no questions, because you have already done the Knowledge Transfer.

Google Documents

  • By now any google documents that you have created should be in the shared drive. In order to confirm that, the PM will need to search their google drive using the search "owner:[replace these brackets with your email]. If they find any files that you have shared but that are still on your personal drive, they will help you to migrate them.
    • The above is useful, but it does not take care of any documents that you changed the permissions on to anyone can edit, and that are still located in your personal drive. Because those won't show up when the PM does the search. So you have to search your drive for all the key words that might be in files that you personally own. While using the owned by me search in google.

Let the team know you are leaving

  • Please don't ghost us, let the PM know (they won't bite).
  • We would love to give you a send-off, which usually involves all the team members mentioning what they most liked about working with you. Please let your team lead know if you don't want this.
  • The team may need to fill your role. If you are able to write the copy and provide it to your PM, its always appreciated. Examples for role posting can be found on the role posting boards:

Roster

  • Change your role to 'Inactive' (please don't delete your info from the roster, we may need to get in touch later; e.g., to let you know your project is launching, Adding your info to a Former Team Members who made this project possible page, still can't get access to a file you created, etc.)
  • Make sure your linkedIn is on the roster so we can connect with you
