How to create a column filter

select the first cell in the top left corner of the sheet (above row 1 and before column A)
select the funnel icon in the toolbar (this should change the column and row header color to green)
select the green down arrow next to the column name you want to apply the filter to
under Filter by values, select Clear
search for the value you want filter by in the search bar
select the value so that a checkmark appears next to it
select OK
