OnPath 0.17.2 – calmer look, plan and tour apart, hold to unlock, route previews

Look

• Walnut, paper and ink blue: the app's ground is paper, neutral buttons are walnut, everything that plans is ink blue,
  everything that takes you on the way is green. Red only for delete. No blue tinted surfaces and no blue glow in Plan any
  more – Plan is recognised by the PLANEN pill, the sheet's blue top edge and the blue buttons.
• Warm shadows, one corner family, a blue compass needle (north ink blue instead of red).
• Numbers like an instrument: big number, small unit, digits of equal width – nothing jiggles in Navigate.
• The route draws itself from start to goal when it is calculated, with a short tick at the end.
• The goal shows a flag instead of its number; the elevation profile is filled with a soft gradient, steeper parts
  stronger.
• OnPath on the start screen (paper, icon, wordmark), in the head of the ☰ menu and on Über OnPath.

Plan and tour are two things

• The plan is saved at Los geht's; ending a tour asks only about the tour. The plan stays on the map after the tour.
• Zuletzt in Meine Touren keeps your last 25 plans (no "Nicht gespeichert" questions any more). The plan you are
  working on is the first row, marked In Bearbeitung – tap it to go back to it.
• Löschen always moves to the recycle bin, without a question.
• During a tour, tapping a plan or a done tour in Meine Touren follows it at once – "Neuer Plan – deine Aufnahme läuft
  weiter" with Rückgängig.

Meine Touren

• A small picture of every route (planned, done, imported GPX). A tap opens an overview on the map, fitted to the
  whole route, with Planen / Abbrechen (during a tour: Folgen).

Navigating

• Hold to unlock: while locked, Pause and Planen stay where they are – hold a button for about a second, the
  colour fills it, then it acts. A short tap shows "Gedrückt halten". The hint line shows only until you have held once.
  How long to hold (Aus · 0,5 – 2 s) is in Einstellungen → Navigation. The slider is gone.
• One bar with and without the lock: Pause | Planen; paused: Weiter · Beenden · ✎. "Weiter geht's" takes you back
  from Plan to Navigate.
• "Du stehst mitten auf der Route" is asked once per plan; the way to ① holds until you reach ①.
• Undo during a tour back to one point where you stand ends the guidance quietly instead of following an old line;
  one point left during a tour no longer loops ("kein Punkt 1 mehr").
• The top card opens by a tap anywhere on it or by pulling it down.
• ⚙ on the way opens the settings in the new look, the Navigation page first.

Tour beenden

• The end sheet ignores a press in its first half second (the thumb that just held Beenden).
• A tour without a recorded line shows "Keine Strecke aufgezeichnet" instead of "Als Plan übernehmen".
• "In Meine Touren ›" opens Meine Touren → Gemacht with the new tour marked.

Plan

• Quiet about GPS: no GPS warnings, no coloured dot on the locate button, no accuracy circle in Plan.
• Nur Übersichtskarte · Detailkarte laden – a paper pill that covers nothing.
• The plan sheet: a tap on its handle steps it bigger.

Settings

• Grouped pages with one row per setting and its current value; the choice opens below. Handy einrichten moves to
  the top with what is missing.

Under the hood

• No error is swallowed any more: background work reports to the problem log instead of stopping the app.
• One geo calculation instead of nine copies (navigation and routing now measure exactly alike).
• The plan, the tour and Meine Touren are their own tested parts (random-flow tests with fixed rules).
• Fewer, better tests: tests that only read the source text and English screenshot twins are gone.

OnPath 0.17.1 – switching the activity works again, quieter guidance, Tour beenden on one screen

Navigating

• Switching the activity during a tour works again: Bike → Hike (or any other) → "Neue Route" – the tour is now
  guided for the new activity. Before, the old guidance came back right away.
• The position stays where you are: the dot is drawn on the route only within 6 m of it (was 25 m). On a road beside
  the planned cycle path the dot stays on the road.
• "Weiter geht's" – after you changed the plan during the tour, the voice says once how far it is now:
  "Weiter geht's. 9,5 Kilometer bis …, etwa 40 Minuten."
• One turn after the other: a turn is announced only after the one before it is ridden. "Gleich rechts halten,
  danach links" is no longer followed by "In 100 Metern rechts" while the left is still ahead.
• Sperren | Plan: after unlocking, "🔒 Sperren" and "Plan" are two equal buttons side by side.

Ending a tour

• Tour beenden on one screen: the numbers in one line, the big green Tour speichern, then Weiterfahren and
  Löschen side by side – nothing hidden below. Löschen moves the tour to the recycle bin (30 days).
• A plan made on the phone is kept: "Plan auch speichern" is now on for a plan you never saved, so it is in
  Meine Touren after the tour.

Meine Touren

• Search: a search box under Geplant | Gemacht finds a tour by any word of its name ("kofel", "koln" finds "Köln").

OnPath 0.17.0 – a calmer plan sheet, a locked Navigate, long bike routes faster

Planning

• A calmer plan sheet. The activity is a button on the map – one tap chooses it, Hike's T1–T5 sit right
  under its row, no confirm. The sheet keeps one light blue row (✕ Neu planen · ⇅ Umkehren · ↻ Rundtour), the
  route's numbers and profile, and one green button "Los geht's". Saving is in ☰ (also during a tour).
• ✕ asks before anything is lost: "Plan speichern?" – Verwerfen · Abbrechen · Speichern.
• During a tour the plan has a light blue band with a round ← back to the tour; there is no green button.

Long bike routes faster

• The route is calculated leg by leg, and an edit routes only the legs it changed – moving one point of a
  98 km plan no longer routes the whole plan again. The same points give the same route as before.
• During a tour, an edit no longer routes every point ahead twice: the way to the next point reuses the plan's legs.
• The wait box shows how far it is: "Abschnitt 2 von 4 wird berechnet…", and the bar moves within one long leg too.

Navigate

• Locked against pocket taps: the slider only unlocks (» Entsperren); then Pause and Tour beenden are in
  the status card and one big blue Plan button changes the route. An open lock beside it locks again. Settings →
  Navigation can switch the lock off.
• The next 2–3 stops are under the profile, with their arrival time, and as small numbered signs on the profile.

Ending and clearing

• Tour beenden is one sheet: the tour (numbers, a big green Tour speichern), what happens to the plan, and
  Weiterwandern / Weiterfahren; Tour löschen is quiet at the bottom and goes to the bin.
• Clearing the plan during a tour says first "Plan leeren? Deine Tour läuft weiter …": the guidance ends, the
  recording never stops – Navigate shows "Freie Tour · nur Aufnahme".

Browser planner

• plan.onpath.earth calculates leg by leg with the same code and shows the same "Abschnitt n von m" line, so a plan
  from the browser and from the phone routes the same.

OnPath 0.16.0 – a round trip stays a round trip, offline at a glance, new words Plan · Tour · Route

Round trips and the start

• Every tour starts at point ①. "Hinführen" now always leads to point ① first and then follows the whole plan –
  a round trip is no longer entered between ① and ② (the bug of 3 November).
• Standing in the middle of the route at the start asks: "Du stehst mitten auf der Route." –
  Zu ① führen or Hier einsteigen (also on the lock screen).
• Points count only in their order: a later point you pass by chance does not skip the ones before it; a round
  trip's end point is not "reached" at the start.
• A point set on the way to a round trip (the bakery) becomes a stop on the way – the loop 1 → 2 → 3 → 1
  stays. "Hier starten & enden" turns only the loop.
• A plan loaded during a tour starts at its point ①.

Off the route

• A new route that would leave out a stop asks with two clear buttons: "Über ③" or "③ auslassen" – never
  quietly. The numbered circles look like the points on the map; the turn card shows "② Leiteralm".

Planning

• "PLANEN · Ohne Netz ✓": the blue label says whether the route works without a network – ✓ everything on the
  phone, ⟳ loading, ⚠ something missing. A tap explains it.
• A found place gets a small card under its pin: "+ Zur Route" (on an empty plan "Hierhin") and
  "⋯ Mehr" – one tap instead of looking for the menu.

Words

• New words: Plan (what you plan and save), Tour (what you do), Route (the calculated way). The list is
  now "Meine Touren" with the tabs "Geplant | Gemacht"; "Plan speichern", "Plan teilen", "Plan ändern".

Under the hood

• Long bike routes measured (113 km): moving one point routes the whole plan again – the faster way (route only the
  changed part) is planned next.

OnPath 0.15.0 – Plan in blue, a calmer plan during a tour, the next stop in the turn card

Planning

• Plan is blue: soft blue side edges and tint tell Plan from Navigate at a glance (Navigate unchanged).
• Help for the first steps: a tap on the open map says "Gedrückt halten, um hier einen Punkt zu setzen.";
  every map button names itself on a long press.
• A long route asks: when the calculation hits its time limit – "Die Route ist lang, die Berechnung dauert.
  Weiter warten?" – Weiter warten gives it more time, Abbrechen stops it. No more straight lines instead.
• Map buttons in one column in both modes, a little larger (56 dp).

On the way

• The turn card shows the next stop before the next turn: "1,2 km · Stopp 2 · Leiteralm" or "Ziel · ‹Name›",
  with the plan point's sign.
• The turn card names the way like the voice: "Links auf den Radweg".
• Changing the route during a tour: the summary row (activity · time · km) above compact bars; one row of three
  equally high pills – green Weiter · blue Route speichern · red Neu planen (was "Änderungen verwerfen").
• Plan is silent: no voice, no navigation vibration and no messages from movement while you plan – also with the
  screen off; only "Navigation fortsetzen" ends the quiet.
• Loading a route during a tour asks: "Route „‹Name›“ laden? Du bist gerade unterwegs." – Mit dieser Route
  weiter · Tour beenden und laden · Abbrechen.

Words

• Fewer terms: two states Planen / Unterwegs, two things Route / Tour – "Aufnahme" and "Navigation" are gone
  from everyday texts.

Under the hood

• Holding on the route counts within a finger's width (24 dp, was ~63 dp), so a hold beside the route sets a new point.
• Readable lines on the way (slider line and plan status larger, stronger contrast).
• Settings → Diagnostics: the problem list starts folded – one line, a tap unfolds it.

OnPath 0.14.0 – voice guidance, a clearer way to stop, and found places as pins

Navigation and voice

• Voice guidance (Settings → Navigation → Turn hints: Off · Vibration · Voice, default Voice). On the bike in two
  steps ("In 150 Metern links." – "Gleich links."), on foot "Gleich links." just before the junction. "Los geht's" once
  at the start, "Abseits der Route." / "Wieder auf der Route.", "Neue Route. Bitte umdrehen." when the new way starts
  behind you.
• The turn card stays on top: with no turn near it says "↑ Geradeaus · 2,4 km", so nothing jumps.
• Stops are reached only by coming near them (25 m on foot, 40 m on the bike); arrival needs every stop and the
  end of the line – no more "Ziel erreicht" too early on round trips.
• Navigate shows the plan's numbered points; passed ones turn grey.
• No GPS while the phone lies still: nothing is shown – the phone's own motion sensor tells still from moving.
  The warning comes only when you move without GPS.

Stopping and changing the route on the way

• Slide "→ Stopp" and three tiles appear: green Pause / Resume, blue Change route, red End. A tap on the map
  or Back closes them.
• Changing the route during a tour: your position shows your activity's sign; at the bottom green "Navigation
  fortsetzen", blue "Route speichern", red "Änderungen verwerfen".
• Ending: "Aufnahme beenden?" with "Aufnahme speichern" and, for a new or changed route, a box to save it too.
  Delete asks no second question – it goes to the recycle bin for 30 days.

Planning

• The start button says "Los geht's · ‹destination›".
• An empty plan tells you how to begin: "Wohin soll’s gehen? Halte dein Ziel auf der Karte gedrückt – oder such es
  oben in der Suchleiste."
• A search result or a place shared from Google Maps is a blue pin with its name under it – tap the name for
  "Als Ziel", "Hier starten", "In Google Maps öffnen" or "Nadel entfernen". Shared places are also kept in "Recent".
• Plan buttons as light pills: "✕ Neu planen" · "⇅ Umkehren" · "↻ Rundtour".
• Bike / Gravel on a paved footway: the amber note "Fußweg – evtl. schieben" instead of "Schieben".

Words

• Route = planned, Tour = ridden, Aufnahme = the running recording. My routes has the tabs "Geplant" /
  "Unterwegs".

Under the hood

• Many robustness fixes from the pre-release review: no lost tour on a damaged database, points written later when
  storage is busy, safe resumable downloads (update checked by sha256), no silent sync failures, GPX import cleanups.
• Requests to brouter.de name the app: OnPath/0.14.0 (+https://onpath.earth).

OnPath 0.13.5 – Save asks for the name, a simpler plan sheet

• Save asks for the name again: ☰ → Save route opens a small box with the name already selected – type a new one
  or keep it. Saving a saved route again updates it; a changed name renames it (still one route).
• The plan sheet has no ⋯ menu any more. Three small buttons with their names do the work: Close plan,
  Reverse, Round trip. Close plan asks first only when there are unsaved changes; a saved route stays in
  My routes.
• Save route is now the top item in ☰. A small green dot on ☰ shows that the plan has unsaved changes.
• Save as copy, Export GPX and Share plan are in My routes → ⋮ of the route.
• A tap on the route's time shows how it was calculated.

OnPath 0.13.4 – Shared places, privacy, pairing on tour

• Places shared from Google Maps: OnPath no longer opens the Google page. It uses the link itself, its own search
  and the phone's address service, and the place must lie in the town that was shared.
• Privacy: a clearer privacy page, and a new "Licenses" page in Settings → About.
• Pairing with the browser during a tour works now. The phone says honestly what is going on: "Waiting for the
  browser …" and "Routes sync after the tour".
• Found or shared places get a new marker: a dashed blue ring with a preview line to the route.
• Adding a destination from the place card shows the whole new route. "Show whole route" also fits better when
  the sheet is pulled up.
• The scale bar shows the right length now.
• English texts use US spelling (center, kilometer, canceled).
• Offline: map areas beside the route load quietly in the background, without a false "no detailed map", and
  starting a tour secures the map along the route again.

OnPath 0.13.3 – Save like Word, better tour edits

• Places shared from Google Maps land at the right place, never at a namesake in another town. If it's not
  clear, a box says "Place not clear" and offers the search.
• Search: the list no longer jumps while you type. Six short filters: Places · Food · Sights · Water · Transit ·
  Parking.
• Browser pairing: the phone says honestly when the browser unpaired ("Unpaired in the browser") and pairs again
  with one scan.
• Guided to a far route ("Guide me"): adding a point on the way works, Undo brings the guidance back, and there
  are no turn cues while you're still far from the route.
• "Show whole route" button in Plan and Navigate.
• Changing the plan during a tour: your position splits the plan into the part you've passed and the part ahead.
  Delete a point ahead and the tour goes on from where you are.
• Save like in Word: Save saves at once. Tap the name to rename it; "Save as new route" is in ⋯.
• Short trips no longer take big detours (one case: 2.1 km → 1.1 km).
• During a tour the plan sheet is one compact row, so the map stays free.
• The locate button in Navigate goes back to the normal navigation zoom.
• Small fixes: the whole route shows after opening a plan link; destination names wrap onto two lines; no more
  "Steps · 0 m"; "New route · was …" comes after Undo.
• Safer saving: all files are replaced in one step, so a crash can't leave half a file behind.
• The browser computes routes exactly like the app, also in tricky spots.

OnPath 0.13.2 – calmer messages, a clear start

• Starting a tour far from the route. If you start somewhere else, OnPath says "Route starts 31 km away" with
  Guide me or Just record, and the status card shows the same distance to the start. The route is no longer
  shortened to the end.
• Clearer off-route question. "You're 120 m off the route · new route 350 m longer". If a stop lies on the new
  way, you choose: via the stop, or skip it.
• Stops on a path are always visited. If the route still misses a stop, the stop stays where you put it and the
  plan says so. Nothing is moved quietly.
• One calm message system. White cards with a coloured edge, one at a time, always in the same place. No double
  question while the app is open.
• Slider "Tour menu" with the small line "Change route · Pause · End".
• During a tour, saved routes can't be loaded. A box says to end the tour first.
• My routes has two tabs, Planned and Done, and "New" / "Changed" tags for routes from the browser. "Save" is
  beside the plan's ⋯ while a route is unsaved.
• Download chip with a progress ring; its details open as a sheet.
• Browser and phone plan the same way, and the map looks the same per activity in both. Plans carry the routing
  version and the date of the routing data; the phone fetches newer routing data right away. A second browser can
  join a paired phone.
• GPX export with named stops. Importing the file again brings the stops back.
• Round trips stay closed when you delete a point from the map menu.
• Recorded ascent and descent are taken from the terrain under your track.
• Map: rock and scree symbols from zoom 14, stronger orchard and vineyard symbols.
