Fixes

• A rejoin after a dropped connection no longer posts leave and join messages.
• A slow read on Windows no longer drops the connection.
• Mobs move smoothly between server updates.
• Zombies keep their target after being hit.

Known gaps

• The pause menu does not pause a singleplayer game yet, and there is no fullscreen toggle.
• The inventory shows no player model.
• Creeper explosions make no sound, and water has no ambient sound.
• Zombies sometimes turn around or walk far off before coming back, and mobs do not push each other.
• Placing a torch from the off hand also plays a block break effect.

New

• Creative inventory screen: every item tab, the search tab and the survival inventory tab.
• Signs: standing and wall signs, an edit screen when you place one, and the text drawn on the sign for everyone.
• Server backups: the world is copied every 30 minutes while someone is playing, and the last 24 copies are kept. /backup makes one now and /backup list shows them.
• Rollback: /rollback NAME (or starting the server with --rollback NAME) restores a backup at the next start, and keeps a copy of the world as it was before.
• tools/server_console.py types a message into the server window and stops the server cleanly, for restarts.

Fixes

• Joining a server from the launcher no longer crashes the game before the first frame.
• In a browser session, input reaches the picture sooner (roughly 5 ms less at the median).
• A failing part of the shared game logs once and keeps running instead of closing the window.

Known gaps

• Chests, beds, banners, shields and skulls show no icon in the creative tabs yet.
• The survival inventory, crafting table, chest and furnace screens are not drawn yet.

Download mc-rs-launcher.exe, run it and press Play: it installs the game, finds or downloads the Minecraft 1.12.2 files, and updates itself. You need to own Minecraft: Java Edition. A 0.3.0 launcher offers this update when it starts.

New in this version:

• The launcher is now mc-rs-launcher.exe
• Distant terrain out to 512 chunks, and clouds that widen with the render distance
• Paintings: drop a PNG or GIF (or a video, with ffmpeg installed) on the window and it hangs on the wall, sized in whole blocks; on a server every player sees it
• Torches
• Menu buttons use the 1.12.2 widget texture with its hover state, play one click each, and the options menu lays out at a whole-number scale
• Join a server as a guest, without an account
• Server moderation: /kick, /ban (with IP bans), /ban-ip, /pardon, /pardon-ip and /banlist; guests cannot chat
• Browser players get automatic picture settings that adjust mid-game, with the manual choices under Advanced
• A native join stays connected and rejoins after a dropped line
• Block breaking works again
