PinIt v1.2.0
What's new
🌍 PinIt speaks your language
- Português (Brasil) added. Pick it in Settings → Language — no need to change your phone's language.
- Leave it on System default and PinIt follows your phone automatically (including Android 13+ per-app language).
- The translation covers everything, not just the main screens: notification actions, home-screen widgets, the widget picker your launcher shows, reminder alerts, toasts and error messages.
Only one language for now — more are coming in future releases. pt-BR is the first, and the groundwork is done: every screen in the app is now translatable, so adding a language is just a new translation file. Want yours next? open an issue or send a translation PR — see the translating guide.
Other changes
- 410 strings externalised. Every piece of user-facing text moved out of the code and into proper resource files — this is what makes translation possible at all. Before this release the app had exactly one translatable string.
- Launcher-facing widget names (all 20 Create/Add widgets) now translate too, so the widget picker matches your chosen language.
- Item counts read naturally in every language instead of being glued together with an English "s".
Fixed
- Widget picker and the + menu are safer against future translations. Two places used the visible label as internal logic — the + menu matched on button text to decide what to open, and calendar import compared a date label against English text. Both would have broken the moment those labels were translated (the + menu silently doing nothing, calendar events getting reminders they shouldn't have). Rewired to use stable internal ids.
Notes
- For general users, download
PinIt-v1.2.0.apk— not theLogEnabledone. The LogEnabled build is unminified and only useful for troubleshooting/bug reports. - No database changes in this release, so upgrading from v1.1.2 keeps all your notes, labels, reminders and backups as-is.
- Translations were done with care but not by a native speaker — if something reads oddly in Portuguese, please open an issue and it'll be corrected.
